Long walk down to the Ceremony Location

Ansley, on August 6, 2015 at 11:13 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

We are having a garden wedding and the ceremony location is in a pecan orchard about 200 feet from the house the wedding party and myself will be walking from. My fiance and I aren't doing a first look and would like to wait as long as possible for him to see me before getting to the "actual" aisle where the guests are sitting. Is there a way to get around the awkward long walk and let him sneak a peak of me walking or just go with the flow and let him and the guests get a longer chance to look at me? I want his first look of me to be one that he can actually see and be more of a WOW factor.

We are going to have a set of double doors at the end of the aisle closed before walking down but he can still see me when walking down to get to the doors.

I have the same issue, the long walk to the groom, but i think we're allowed to drive a vehicle onto the grass to drop me off. I haven't confirmed this yet, but i'm pretty sure it's not an issue with the venue. If so, i guess it'll be a long walk. haha

We are having the same issue but I am renting a train to take me down and I am thinking about putting up some sort of a curtain so he can't see until I get off. What about borrowing a golf cart or something and putting up a cover?

Just a thought, what if he was looking the other way while you are making the long walk and when you get to the doors the BM can give him a nudge to turn and look.

Lydia, that's what I was thinking of doing. Just telling him to turn around but wasn't sure if that'd be weird.

They will allow cars but I don't think there is enough room for a car to get between the trees, but a gold cart sounds like a good option!

I'd ask your contact at the venue! They might have some good suggestions if they've done something similar in the past!

Ansley I don't think it will be weird. If I remember correctly I think Prince William turned around when Prince Harry nudge him.
