Your coordinator should be able to help out with this ! ☺️ But on that note depends on the amount of guests you will have and the size of your reception room. Can you share this so we can give you better advice. Also there are a lot of online settings you can choose from to create a digital download of your map out of your seating chart. Also having a seating guide the day of the wedding so guests can find their way as well 🥰

Can you set up the tables in a zig zag formation with no gap between so you still have the long table look but you allow them the freedom to pick their seats? This allows you to use standard table numbers allowing guests to locate them easier.

Escort and place cards!

Like previous poster said this is where escort and place cards are great

Escort cards (color coded if your caterer needs them for the waitstaff for dinner choices) work better a chart display because they can refer to the card if they get sidetracked by conversations on the way.

We had place cards and allotted more time for people to mingle and find their seats.

We had a three tables put together and used a place card.

Just use place cards! Have them pick up their escort cards by the door and have a table number on them to direct them to the right table (you'll need to clearly number the tables, too). Then if you want to do seating assignments as opposed to just table assignments, you'll need place cards at each seat so they know which is theirs.
