Long sleeve dresses

Danielle, on January 22, 2020 at 4:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I might be interested in getting a long sleeve dress since my wedding will be in January. I've heard some people say your arms are super restricted in a dress like that. And you are not able to lift your arms up very high. Has anyone had a long sleeve dress or has tried them on and can attest to that?? I really do not want to feel restricted.

If your dress fits properly, you should have normal range of motion.

It really depends on the fabric and how it is sewn. I got a off the shoulder long sleeve lace dress for my wedding. I so far have not had a problem when trying it on moving around. The lace is slightly stretchy which helps.

This is going to be highly depending on the cut, fit, and quality of the dress. Like Caytlyn said, if the dress fits properly, this shouldn't be a problem. But then we have people posting here looking for "reception dresses" because the wedding dress they bought doesn't allow them to sit or dance or use the restroom or whatever.

The most important thing is to try out all of the range of motion you can think of while trying on your dress (walk, sit, bend down, lift your arms, dance, hike it up and pretend to pee Smiley winking, just MOVE). What is the point of buying something that is pretty but doesn't let you act like a human in it? If you try on a dress with sleeves that keep you from lifting your arms, put it back on the rack.

I am more and more interested in long sleeve dresses also! I am going again in a couple weekends to try different dresses on because I’m having slight dress regret with my current one 😕

My dress is 3/4 sleeves. I didn't feel restricted when I tried it on, but I don't think I raised my arms. I guess I need to do that. I sure hope it's okay though because I want to cover up these flabby, old arms.

It depends. I had a bodysuit and it wasn’t easy but I changed after my ceremony (and no dancing) so it wasn’t a problem.

I’m thinking I can still go for it because I’m early June but depending on if I have it at home (Cleveland, oh) or Turks and Caicos will be the determining factor really.

Yeah, like literally I don’t care if it’s just him and I my mind is made up that we’re getting married in Turks and Caicos PERIOD lol and bouncing around the island for our honeymoon. With that being the case, I think I’m going to start looking for strapless fit & flares I LOVE those
