Long Sleeve Ball Gowns???

Kayla , on July 22, 2018 at 8:02 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
So I’m searching for a long sleeve, off the shoulder, ball gown. Loving the ones with a lacey bodice and super full tulle skirt. When I google “Long sleeve wedding ball gown” lots of beautiful dresses come up, but they all end up being from those fake dress websites (dhgate, juljia bridal, etc.). So my question is how do I find the real dresses (real designers) of the dresses in the pictures? I’ve tried a reverse image lookup but no luck, it just reroutes me to dhgate or a similar website. Barely 6 months till the wedding and I’m scrambling to find my dream dress. Anyone looking for a similar dress? Have you found some options?

Can you call around to bridal shops in your area and ask if they have something like that? With 6 months to go you may have to buy something off the rack or find a designer that can rush it.

I’ve tried two different shops. The one 30 minutes from my home (the only one close to me) and one that was 1.5 hours away. Both calls I asked if they had any long sleeve ball gowns, and both said yes, then I would get there and there would only be long sleeve sheaths or quarter sleeve A-line dresses and basically just tried to convince me to get something else. So I feel like I need to find the one I want online since it’s such an odd combo that no one seems to carry in there bridal boutique. If I’m willing to pay thousands of dollars and travel I feel I should get the sleeves, neckline, and silhouette I want, not talked into something else. That’s basically why I’ve been trying to find something online, before having to travel to another boutique.

Look at dresses on the knot .. you can filter by style and it will show you all those dresses and the designer

I would look up popular wedding brands and look through their current catalog online and then if you start finding ones you like see if any bridal shops near you carry the brand

I’ve tried using filters on the knot to narrow down the search to just ball gowns (they don’t have an option to narrow it down by long sleeves as far as I can tell), so I’ve looked at every ball gown on the knot about three times now lol

This is what I’m looking for (or at least something like it), and I’m just starting to think that maybe it was a dress from a collection years ago or the lace was added on to a sleeveless ball gown?

I tried on this gown when I went wedding dress shopping and ended up going with another that wasn’t as much of a ball gown. I had no problem finding long sleeve, tulle ball gowns when I went dress shopping! Stella York /Essense of Austria and Allure are designers that have a bunch of these style dresses! This one is an Allure.

Yeah, I’ve searched up and down on the Allure and Essence Designs websites and I haven’t found one with a more straight across neckline (I’m avoiding the plunging V neck line, and trying to find lace that’s more solid for more coverage on chest and arms).

Here are a couple from CocoMelody (online). I know they are an online retailer, but I've really never seen anything but good said about them, and they do have a store in LA. (Though I don't have personal experience.)

Here's one at Nordstrom, a Rosa Clara: https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/rosa-clara-couture-niher-lace-tulle-ballgown/4764080?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FThe%20Wedding%20Suite%2FWedding%20Dresses&color=natural

Yes!!! That’s what I wanted. Long sleeves weren’t “in” in 2016, so I finally found a Martina Liana bodysuit & Morilee Ball gown. Did you look at dresses on WW? Also try The Knot, they give dress cost estimates. Morilee, Essence of Australia, Moonlight Bridal & Allure Bridal all have at least 1-2 of that style for less than $1500.

Sorry! Just read you’ve seen Allure & Essence. Plunging necklines are in (try Morilee & Moonlight Bridal). Some designers will let you customize changes (ie not deep “v”) or a seamstress can add a modesty panel. With 6 months to go, you gotta get on this ASAP or look for off-the-rack gowns very soon.

You can probably get these customized/altered so it’s straight across and not plunging by adding lace over that area. I’m sure they have ways of doing it Smiley smile you might also be able to add a lace sleeve top thins to a strapless ball gown to get the look you want Smiley smile

Yeah for sure! This one in particular is actually an illusion neckline so the upper shoulders and the plunge part of it has a sheer material that I'm sure could easily have lace added to it.

I ended up traveling to go try on dresses 4 days after I posted this, on July 27th, and I bought a long sleeve ball gown! I’m not going to say which one yet, because I don’t want any one I know finding this post and seeing it lol Basically, as I was trying on dresses, I made sure that I could buy an extra yard of lace with the dress in order to alter the neckline. Estimated delivery time for the designer I was looking at was late November to mid December (definitely not very much cushion time to get alterations, for a February 2nd wedding), so it just so happened that the dress I chose was one of the dresses that the designer allows for expedited shipping, so I already started feeling like it was meant to be, and said yes to the dress! So I get measured for the dress, and I’m right between a size 4 and 6, so I decide to go with the 6 since I thought the 4 would be a little too snug and I could always take in the size 6 a little, if need be. Turns out the bridal boutique had already ordered my exact dress (even in the color I wanted and in a size 6) and it’s due to get here around mid-September!!!!!!!! So no expedited shipping fee and my dress should be here in about a month and a half!!! I definitely feel like it was meant to be!
