long hair vs short hair!

Alexandria, on February 6, 2017 at 5:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

I've always had short hair, but lately i've been letting it grow and get a little darker so it's not so dead for the wedding. i will definitely make it more blonde once summer and the wedding get a little closer. but my question is: would you let your hair grow or cut it short like you've always had it?

I am wearing a veil and the picture shows it with my short hair. if my hair is longer, i'll wear it up!

    We are date twins (:

By the time your wedding comes, your hair won't be much longer. Would you be doing extensions? Otherwise, the difference won't be that major .

I say keep it the same length you normally have it. It's you! You don't have to have long hair to look like a bride.

I'm the opposite of you, I've had long hair all my life but chopped it all off to donate last spring. Now I'm desperately trying to get it to grow in time for the wedding!

My opinion is that longer hair is more versatile, and you will have more options as to the look you want if you keep it long.

I've recently been wearing my hair short, maybe a couple inches longer than yours is.

I decided to work backwards. I found a style I wanted and am growing my hair to fit that style.

Remember you can only grow your hair so fast. It will probably only be about shoulder length by the time of your wedding if you start growing it now.

Leave it short, at least for me that would leave my hair at a really awkward grow out stage by the time of your wedding. Your hair is adorable the way it is.

If you keep it short/med and decide you want an updo ask about extensions. I have seen AMAZING hair talent using extensions. It's pricey but it also gives you options. Ask during your hair trial.

    I recommend a hair trial ....

ETA: your hair/veil is beautiful in the pic.

I think this depends entirely on the kind of hairstyle you want for your wedding. For me, I like having shorter hair, but short for me is still touching my shoulders. My hair was a few inches longer than I would prefer to have it back in December when I had my hair trial, and my stylist told me the longer my hair was, the closer she could make my hair look like my inspiration photo. Since I want a specific updo that's anchored low, I need to keep letting my hair grow out.

How fast does your hair grow? Where would the length fall if you did let it grow out? If you'd be able to get it past any awkward lengths and like wedding hairstyles at that length, then yes, grow it out. If not, I think you look beautiful with short hair and there are a number of things you could do with shorter hair. But it's about what you want.

I'm actually considering cutting my hair off for the wedding! When I met FH, my hair was about the length of yours, and when we were looking at old pictures last week he kept going on and on about how cute I looked with that haircut.

I think your hair is great as it is, and I wouldn't change it. It really suits your face.

I'm a pixie cut bride as well and I get this question a lot. And I'm keeping it short. It's been short for probably 14 years, short is me, and short it will stay. I don't want to look back at my pictures and think "I don't look like me."

Date twins! I think you look beautiful with short hair. But do whatever you are comfortable with. You can always grow it and then if you don't like it cut it back to short for the wedding

If you grow it out and decide you don't like it, you can always cut it again closer to the wedding - you already know what shorter style you like and look good in.

Longer hair isn't necessarily better. My hair was past my hips (and wicked thick) for my wedding, and my insanely talented hairdresser managed to get it all up, but damn if I didn't have a headache later that night.

I've been growing mine out for a while now and my hair grows extremely fast. My logic is, the hairdresser can cut my hair to match the length/style i want for my updo. Ive never been able to do hair extensions personally because they make my scalp itchy.

My hair normally ranges from chin length to mid neck (just enough to throw it in a ponytail. I have been letting mine grow for the past year because I want a half up half down do for the wedding and I needed more hair. I still have 2.5 months and the length is driving me nuts!

Short hair looks just as pretty as long hair on wedding days. It really depends on your personal preference & what you want to do accessory-wise. I'm keeping my pixie for the wedding. It's easier for me to manage & I can style it myself if need be (we're having a DW).

My hair is just above collarbone length, so fairly short. FH loves long hair but I get cut crazy and keep chopping it. I am hoping to at least get a few inches grown by August. I personally like both long and short hair, but feel that with long hair you have more options for wedding hair, I don't want my hair to look the same as it does every day, on my wedding day. Same with makeup!

So my wedding is in Oct. I like my hair around shoulder length, but right now it is down to my elbows, thin and it looks horrible at this length, but i had a baby and its easier to throw up, however i was growing it out for the wedding, i have seriously about had it with my hair so wanting to just chop it off, thats what i feel most comfortable and more me in, and i would give you the same advice, last thing you want is to not have the hair you feel comfortable in on your big day

Keep it short! I have a short inverted bob and always get the question of whether or not I will grow my hair out. My answer is no because short hair is who I am and I don't need long hair to be a bride. There are so many options for short hair now that its not necessary for it to be long. Don't change who you are because of some silly assumption brides need to have long hair.
