Long dress, outdoor ceremony

Long dress, outdoor ceremony 1
Hi! I'm 20 years old and absolutely IN LOVE with this dress I found on dressafford.com for $175. My wedding is taking place on September 9, 2021, in a meadow by my grandparent's pond. I feel like I can't possibly commit to a different gown, that this is THE ONE, but I'm wondering if a long gown is the right way to go for an outdoor wedding (in summer, no less). Also, maybe some advice for staying cool and not sweating too much?

People do it all the time. Even in tropical locations, brides wore heavy gown because they chose them, and there is no rule. If you love it, do it. That dress is pretty, and for that price it’s a great deal!

The plus is it has short sleeves. Women wear long dresses all the time to marry in outdoors even in summer. Long dresses are associated with getting married and many don't feel that short dresses are formal enough for a wedding. Do what works for you.

To keep cool, try a hoop skirt crinoline to keep the dress off your legs. Also aerosol antiperspirants such as Dove are heavy duty.

Wow, thanks Michelle! I hadn't considered wearing a hoop skirt crinoline slip underneath. Thanks for the tip!

Haha, I figured. Oh well. 🤷‍♀️ I'm only wearing it once! I do plan on saving it for my future daughter though (not pregnant btw 😅) so I will be sure to have it cleaned after the big day.

    That dress is SO gorgeous!

Like everyone else said, wear what you want! I bought a Spring collection dress for an October wedding in the midwest, when it's usually quite cold, but I didn't care. It ended up being a beautiful day, and we actually got quite hot at one point when taking pictures!

(I also went with a spray-on deodorant that worked wonders!)

I might steal your spray-on deodorant idea. With the good chances of it being hot outside, I want to curb potential body odor as much as possible.
