Locking card box

Victoria, on December 28, 2017 at 8:56 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 15
So I’ve read everywhere that it’s important to have a card box that locks, but have been completely unable to find one that doesn’t just clasp shut and that has like a lock and key, so not anyone could get in to it. Where do you guys find yours? Smiley smile

I bought one on amazon and 2 sets of heart shaped silver locks to keep the lid from being removed.

Careful with this. It's not always random people taking cards. I wouldn't put it past staff to try to take a few cards, especially broke college students working catering on the side. Better to be safe than sorry!

Definitely buy a locked box. I did not and we unfortunately had cards stolen. And to those who always shriek "oh but my guests would never"- just know I said that same thing!

Mine doesn't have a lock, I made it myself from a large box I had laying around. Once a card is in, there's no way to get it out without destroying the box.

I guess that's something we'll have to think about. My friends have pretty good judgment so I wouldn't have to worry about their plus ones. My cousins on the other hand...Smiley atonished

Found this old tool box at a flea market for $3, had fiancé put hole in it, spray painted and added some twine. Also found a old lock for the front.

Ours doesn’t lock, but it has a latch I glued shut. It would take a lot of obvious prying to get it open. I’m contemplating getting a ribbon to the around it to hide there’s even a latch there.

I think it's a good idea to find one that does lock. I didn't have a locked card box, and didn't occur to me to get one that did until after I bought one. I don't know if anything was taken, 🤷🏻‍♀️, bad karma on anyone who did.
