Local favorite restaurant for catering

Anyone doing this to save money? Most provide corporate catering services already and the food is generally better quality/tastier at a fraction of the price of a wedding caterer and they provide more food.

I had my reception at a restaurant rather than a venue and it definitely was better in the sense that i didn't have to pay for extras like tables, chairs, linens, etc because it was all included

We will also hold our reception at a restaurant (private dining room). In the end it made more sense for our wedding size (20 people) and to have quality food. If we had a venue that allowed outside catering I would have had my favourite restaurant cater in, rather than gone with a caterer I don’t know well

    This is very popular, actually!

But, as always, it depends on where you are, price wise. I looked into a restaurant for our reception, but they required us to buy them out for the night... and it was $30,000 MINIMUM.

I should mention we got married in NYC.

In a lot of places, though, this is always a good thing to look into.

That is crazy expensive! I wonder if they do offsite corporate catering as you would get for business lunches that is cheaper? Many will cook the food at the restaurant and deliver to the offsite venue.

Oh, that's a different math problem.

Venue without catering, plus catering, plus rentals = I stopped adding when the venue was already $10,000.
