I would advise against this, if at all possible. I'd either push the wedding and save, or just cut your wedding size & budget dramatically. I also think if you don't have great credit, getting a personal loan would be very hard.

I agree with pp, I would not take out a loan for a wedding. I suggest postponing or having something smaller with a smaller budget. But if you are dead set on a loan, if you have really bad credit, your interest rates will be ridiculously high, and you might not even qualify for the amount you're hoping to get. Again, I don't recommend taking a loan, but if you really want to, maybe your fs can take it out instead of you, so you dont pay 10 times more due to higher interest rates.

Your finances are none of my business but I would advise against borrowing money for your wedding. It would probably be a better idea in the long run to have a smaller wedding in your current budget or to just push the date a bit. You guys can even get married now at a courthouse and then have the reception at a later date.

I just wouldn't want to create new debt just for a wedding.

I agree with everyone else when it comes to taking out a loan for a wedding. So I'll just share with you a bit of my story.. I decided to post pone my wedding two weeks ago (original date 9/29/18) and it still sucks a little. But going into our marriage knowing my FH and I will have our finances aligned and debts paid off is so much more satisfying (to me). I've also found comfort in "starting over". Most details are already planned so now i can enhance on things ive already envisioned and save up to splurge on things i previously said no to. I sincerely suggested you ask yourself "why" you want this loan.

If its something you need.. a personal loan is the way to go. If youre not approved for that those pay day loans usually approve most people, but you'll pay back tripple what u borrow.

On an alternative note, if you’re looking at some extra ways to improve your budget check out The Penny Hoarder, sooo many ways to save that it can add up. Also, tons of ways to slash your wedding budget by choosing a less expensive venue, food options, inviting a few less people, choosing a wedding dress style but not a designer label, reception brunch vrs wedding dinner....so many opportunities to save!

Don’t take out a loan for a party. No party is worth going into debt for. You are not entitled a wedding, and there is no benefit to you. Especially if you have a car payment, mortgage payment or student loan.

Hey. When my girlfriend got married, they planned so much. They invited very distant relatives of whom no one knows, ordered a very expensive restaurant with many dishes. What they lacked for all the money and had to take cash in an emergency .

And now I'm in the same situation, I'm getting married. And we do not have enough budget to do everything that we planned. And I want to ask for advice to take a loan and do everything as planned, or is it better to save money?
