Living Together Before Marriage

We’re getting married next month and we’ve been living together for almost 3 years now. He already owned a house and I rented so I moved into his house.

Hi Renee! My FH and I have lived together for about 8 years. We bought a house together 3 years ago. We had discussed marriage for awhile but buying a house kinda came quicker than we thought due to unforeseen circumstances. So, of course after a down payment for the house and the stress/busyness of moving we put having a wedding back for some time. I'm glad to do them at separate times. I couldn't imagine the stress doing that together. Lol.

I won’t be living with my fiancé until right after the wedding! Not for religious reasons or anything. We just like the idea of the “big change” once we are married. If we were already living together, it would feel like the main difference would just be some paperwork and taxes.

We bought our house together this past May and he proposed in October. So not too far after. If I could do it over again I probably would have waited because as the previous poster said I just don’t feel like I’ll feel much of a big change when we get married in November.

I’m moving to his house about 8 months before we get married so I can get settled in

We moved in together in August; we’re getting married in June.

We will have lived together about a year and a half prior to the wedding. We were engaged in August of 2017 and purchased our home together in December 2017.

We've been living together for 5 years and bought a house together last fall. We thought about getting married before we started seriously looking at houses (the house hunting process took us about 8 months) but decided to buy a house first. The house was more important to me but we decided to get married about halfway through house hunting. I had to wait a bit longer for the ring and official proposal because we were closing on the house and such. We ended up getting engaged about 5 months after we moved in.

We moved in together into an apartment after dating long distance for 2 years. I moved to be with him (and closer to my family - I had taken a job a couple hours away from my hometown). Earlier this year we closed on our house together! So we will have lived together for over 2 years by the time we get married in July.

We lived together for two years before we bought our house in 2017 and got engaged almost a year later. We’ve been together for four years. Admittedly I was the one who took on the house-hunting mission. He wanted to buy a house but would have also been just as happy waiting more to do so. Our rent was so high though that it didn’t make sense. I had originally wanted to wait til after we were engaged to buy a house but we took advantage of the housing market at the time and when we found our house, we HAD to act cuz it was perfect in every way.

We've been living together since May 2015..so three years, four by the time we get married. We moved across the country together after college so living together was really the only option. We were spending so much at the time at each other's places beforehand it was just a natural transition.

My fiancé and I considered getting/living in solace together before marriage but decided what’s the rush. We want to experience our the excitement of living together freshly new and when we get married :-). Also our Pre-Marital counselor highly suggest couples not to live together prior to marriage and if the couple already does they should not sleep in the same bed. There is a lot of holy logic s d just normal logic behind the reasoning which he can explain in better than I could :-). Do it the right way :-) it will be more benefial for you both and trust in that

We purchased our house about 2 1/2 years before our wedding. We had been long distance up until then.

We'd been living together for 6 or 7 years before we married. I think it's really important for understanding how compatible you truly are together

We’ve been together for 7 years, engaged for 7 months. We will be moving in together in May, and we’ll be getting married in December! We’ve been together since our senior year of high school, and then I was away for undergrad and grad school (still close) for 5 and a half years. We’re excited to finally move in together! And it’s gettin close!
