live streaming an outdoor Wedding?

STREAMING A COVID TINY WEDDING
Hi everyone, we are getting married in the woods behind our house with 7 family members attending, not even all our children and grandchildren. We want to stream the wedding so they are feeling they are participating and bring them there, with us as much as possible. WiFi doesn’t extend to that area but we can hop onto cell phone towers. We have been told Zoom may not be the best vehicle and I think it depends on WiFi, anyway, but possiblyFaceTime with 3 or 4 households or there may be other apps. I’d love to hear what others are doing or have done. We are getting married on June 21st on the 28th anniversary of our meeting and are 76 and 78!

You can try Google Duo if you have everyone's cell numbers, although I'm not sure you can make a priority screen that way.

Honestly I think Zoom is the best platform for livestreaming and I have used a bunch of them. I don't use Facebook but if you poke around other topics you'll find some people who have used Facebook groups or rooms succesfully.

Zoom works well through data. You could always try a test run to see. Google has Hangouts, Windows has something and Facebook/Messenger just added their Groups.
However with just sharing the ceremony, Facebook Live may be just as easy an option. If you were to host a remote-reception, Zoom or Hangouts would be better for guest interaction.

Thanks, Kari! We'd love to use an iPad, but Wifi modem is probably 1,500-2000 feet away, but I guess we could access Zoom or something else if we use a cell phone. Thanks for your suggestion!

We used facebook live through our event page created for the ceremony. That way it only broadcasted to those we invited. It worked well. Sound wasnt the best. Would suggest having the device as close to you as possible.

Could you use your phone as a hotspot for your iPad? That might be another option if you want to use a device with a bigger screen.

Thanks, Kayla. I don’t know an event page is. I do have an active FB account so can I just create an event page, or is this a designated wedding-related site?

Oh, that’s a thought. I will ask my kids how to do that.
