Live Stream

Victoria, on July 22, 2025 at 9:52 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 2 3
Has anyone done a live stream of their wedding and if so, how? What website/app did you use and how did it go? We have a lot of people who can't make it that would love to be able to see us get married.

I went to a friend’s wedding recently where they actually got married through LegalOnlineMarriage.com. It was all online, so people could join the live stream from wherever they were. I thought it might feel impersonal, but it honestly felt really intimate — you could see and hear everything clearly, and nobody had trouble joining in.

The best part was that the next day my friend sent us a recording of the ceremony as a keepsake, so even people who couldn’t watch live still got to experience it. It was simple, no special app to download — just a link we clicked and we were in.

If you’ve got a lot of guests who can’t make it, something like this works really well. It’s stress-free for you, easy for them, and you still have that video memory to look back on later.

We're getting married in our church, so our tech team is going to live stream the event. We're just going to send out a private link via email for everybody who RSVP for virtual attendance so that it's not public. I think we're using the church's YouTube for it.

You could stream through youtube with local recording using the obs studio software on a computer. you also would want a good camera and microphone setup. Are you able to go with a videographer for the task? Otherwise, test the process to make sure it will work well for your wedding day.
