What about custom bookmarks for favors??

Depending on which books you are using you can also name your tables off of places in these books.

We're using small stacks of books as part of our centerpieces. Each table will be dedicated to an author (plus one table for math books since we're both math majors). We were considering just putting something like "The Gaiman Table" on the escort cards, but I think people would get confused/spend too much time finding their tables haha

I've never seen a wedding theme like this so I just did a quick Google search for some ideas I thought were cute.

For favors maybe sugar cookies decorated as books or something related to a favorite book? Maybe using book pages for wrapping or "tissue" for the favor?

Our theme is literature/Harry Potter. I'm getting married on Sunday, so I'll post some pics after that.
