Lipstick hell

Brianna, on December 15, 2019 at 12:16 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 3 36
Yes, lipstick is my latest dilemma. My wonderful fiancé and I have been discussing every detail of our big day; I mean, he even picked out my dress!! All of a sudden he realized that I will be wearing lipstick for our wedding. He HATES lipstick (mostly because it always transfers to him, and he doesn’t want to wear my lipstick after our first kiss as husband and wife).

What brands have you tried that have zero transfer? I need to find something that I can wear (I personally like some color on my lips). Help!!!

Try a lip stain instead of a lipstick! You’ll need to exfoliate your lips prior to use BUT it’ll stay on like crazy. It won’t have a shimmer or anything either, like regular lipstick. I used to wear it all the time as a waitress and it withstood 12 hour shifts with no reapplication (and snacking and drinking throughout).

Kylie cosmetics Matte lipstick does not budge. I highly recommend that. I’ve heard Kat von d, Jeffrey star, and Anastasia Beverly Hills is really good too but I have not tried as Kylie works so well for me.

Correction* the matte liquid lipstick. I forgot she has a regular matte now too, that does not have the same staying power.

I agree with PP that lip stains would be a better option. I would do a lip scrub the week before the wedding and make sure to keep your lips hydrated leading up to the big day because even the best, most expensive lip stains can be drying. I personally love NYX's Lip Lingerie line and it's super inexpensive.

My make up artist recommended Sephora’s line of matte lip color and I actually love it and think it wears really well, especially considering the price!

I agree with PP’s about a lip stain. I also LOVE the retro liquid lipstick from MAC. I have a matte color and a shimmery color. Both are beautiful, creamy formulas and don’t transfer. L
My fiancé also hates lipstick but I can kiss him with this on and it doesn’t transfer. Lipstick hell 1

I have always used a staining gel from Clinique, blush and lips. Then any lip gloss. Your lips stain with the color, but do not transfer to another person.

I know some of the other ladies mentioned Kylie- I’ve worn hers before ( Mary Jo K color) and it came off me pretty easily (I also have 2 other colors of hers that does the same). I have also worn Jeffree Star (Wifey color) and that came off only a little bit. I’ve done MAC as well and that one was best for me!

I've never found a lipstick that doesn't transfer when wet. If I can manage to keep my lips dry (no drinking, eating, or kissing) the color stays, but even the best "color stay" lipstick I've tried wouldn't survive a deep kiss or makeout session (they do fine for a quick peck though). If you just need some color, definitely try a lip stain, just make sure you apply it precisely!

I have not tried these yet but Maybelline 24 hour liquid lipstick is supposed to be good. They say it doesn't transfer and that they are highly pigmented. I am probably going to buy a few to try out.

I’ve been using these for years and they do last 24 hours! If I don’t take them off with makeup remover it will be there the next morning . It comes with a hydrating top layer.

I use Lipsense and there’s no transfer! If you apply the gloss a few times it lasts all day with zero flaking. They sell through independent distributors, but you could easily find somebody on their website!
