Lip color for dry lips

I have no idea because I rarely wear makeup, but I'd recommend asking this question to your makeup artist during your trial, if you're having one! My makeup artist answered so many questions during my trial and gave me a bunch of tips of things I should do and products I should try leading up to my wedding

Use a cocoa butter lip balm like Palmer's. It'll heal your lips before you know it and after a few days, you should only need it once or twice a day. Many of the major brands like Chapstick, Blistex, etc have ingredients that actually dry out your lips instead of healing them.


After that, you can use the cocoa butter balm under any lipstick. The higher end brands (Colourpop, Anastasia Beverley Hills, Dose of Colors, etc) that you can buy on Sephora or Ulta stay longer than drug store brands. Then use setting spray to keep everything in place.

I would look into a lip exfoliater followed by an overnight lip mask.

My lips tend to dry out too, which is one reason I don’t typically wear any lipstick. I’ve found the Mac matte lipsticks (matte so FH isn’t wearing it too after the kiss haha!) wears really nice on me. After the kiss, I plan to put on lipgloss over and I’m loving the urban decay hi-fi shine lipgloss because it makes my lips feel instantly more hydrated.
I’ve tried a few overnight lip treatments and lip masks, but haven’t found one I’m crazy about.

Gently exfoliate your lips 1-2 a week (fine grain sugar, honey and coconut oil). Apply a neutral lip balm (no fragrance) do this along with your regular skin care routine day and night. Try to not lick your lips, this causes drying. Your make-up artist will apply a balm on your lips before applying lipstick. Avoid long lasting lipsticks as they tend to be drying.

Estée Lauder has a tinted balm that looks like pale pink but naturally tints to the tone of your lips while moisturizing and adding a little plump.
Yves St Laurent has a great lip stain and lasts long, I think it can be found on the Sephora page. Also found one today on Ulta- (can’t recall name) haven’t tried great reviews, tons of sales.
Secret to long lasting lipstick no matter what brand - learn to curl your lips just enough to never have them fully touch you eating utensil or drink ware. My mom asked me the other day what kind of lipstick I was wearing because she wanted long lasting lipstick.... I told her the above secret. I can usually make just about any kind / cost of lipstick last hours and look fresh with that technique.

I would get a lip scrub and use that in the evenings followed by a really hydrating/healing lip balm like aquaphor or o'keefe's. Before I put on my lipstick I put on a hydrating primer by anastasia beverly hills and keep that on while I do my makeup. I blot it off right before I do lipstick (I find that a matte liquid lip has the best staying power). My lips have the tendency to dry out too and this is the best I've been able to come up with. I put pictures below of what I use except the lip scrub because I have a nyx one I use as well as a Jeffree Star (a lip scrub is a lip scrub). Hope this helps!
