Lingerie Party/shower??

@Cassandra I had a friend to had a lingerie shower as part of her bachelorette party, since you usually have closer friends going. And the bridal shower is for aunts, grandma, family friends, etc. I don't know how comfortable I would feel having my aunt or grandma giving me a thong o.0

You could consider having two bridal showers--one the more "traditional" for family and friends. And one fun night as a bridal/lingerie party for your bridesmaids and close friends. That could begin early in the evening and turn into a rousing bachelorette night on the town!

There's no real "etiquette" on this. Just know your audiences and have fun!

I have seen it at both- my friend had a bridal shower and her bridesmaids had an innappropriate hour so to speak where they had all these things like sex toys and lingerie because she wasnt doing a real bachelorette party- she was kinda a prude and her family was there so it was awkward. It's much more comfortable at a bachelorette party IMHO. You are there to have fun maybe get a little rowdy. And normally grandparents arent there.

The lingerie showers I've been invited to were separate from the bachelorette and bridal showers. You generally get naughty lingerie and toys so you don't want any inappropriate people there.

Congrats on your wedding!!!!!! I would save a party like that with your close girls, just because you can get a little more wild and let loose with your girls instead of grandma. Like Amy said what is the point of them, just get nakie thats the best lingerie. Have fun!!!

I unexpectedly opened lingerie at a traditional, family shower and it was the older women that loved it. That was unexpected.

I was half mortified, half amused.

If it's possible to have separate showers, I would.

Guys, you're getting this lingerie thing all wrong! The lingerie is what you wear while you're "pretending to make dinner", because then you just get to have sex and order out instead!

Trust me you want your shower gifts, and sometimes people bring gifts to a bachlorette someetimes they don't so you make your bachlorette themed, sexy and spicy or something, so people can bring sexy stuff or spices and stuff.

Or naughty or nice, so they can bring lingerie and sex toys , or slippers and pjs

I manage a lingerie superstore in phoenix. We get lot's of ladies that incorporate lingerie into their bachlorette party.. corsets, wigs, colorful tutu's, gloves, stockings, mini-top hats etc. Lingerie as party wear that can be used later in a more sexy & private manner is a win-win!

I thought of having a bridal shower with lingerie as the gifts. I had thought about it and some of you are right about the family member giving lingerie, so i figure for the older people i will suggest pajamas or sleepwear or loungewear. And for my closer friends lingerie.
