Linens/dinnerware: Buy or Cater?

Hello, everyone
As my wedding grows closer, I’m trying to find ways to save money, and I noticed a high number quoted for equipments and linens by my caterer. We are only having 30 guests (originally 35 quoted), and I’m being charged around $1050. I’m currently trying to price it out, and I think I come in around $800 if I buy all of the glassware/plates/linens. Any thoughts? Is it worth the extra money rather than trying to do it all myself?

Don't forget if you buy the linens yourself you ll probably also have to have them pressed. Buying them also probably means you are responsible for bringing and removing them from the venue. In the end the time might not be worth the savings but only you can decide that. Best of luck to you!

Yeah, I was just reading about that! I’m checking out different rental companies at the moment just to see if I get a similar quote because I’m sure I’ll have enough to worry about on that day. Thanks so much!

Hi Megan! Another consideration is the potential shipping issues you may run into if you order linens, etc. on your own. I would hate to have a delay in your order cause any additional stress to you. Another consideration is the more vendors you have, the more tips you are looking at. Totally up to you and I get how expensive weddings can be, but this may take a lot of stress off you to allow you to enjoy your guests and new husband and not have to worry about it.
