Linen suit...?

Rachel, on June 25, 2015 at 10:27 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 1

We are getting married next spring, and I am anticipating the temperatures to be quite warm at the end of next May. FH has it in his head that he wants to wear a linen suit to our wedding. I understand that it will be hot, and I will be shopping for my dress with that in mind as well, but linen? It wrinkles almost immediately, and I've never seen a linen suit in a color that doesn't remind me of going on safari. My plan was for the groomsmen to just wear suit pants and vests, foregoing the jacket, but he seems determined to be a wrinkled mess all day.

Has anyone seen linen suits at a wedding? Is it better than this awful wrinkled jungle adventure I have in my head?

I have. For the heat they ARE AWESOME. Slightest breeze goes right through them.

Of course wrinkling is an issue. Just steam the jacket right before the ceremony or even have a 2nd, non-linen suit ready... just in case, or have him change after the ceremony. My jacket never wrinkled too much except in the back from sitting.

As for color, usually they're light colors, true. I don't think I've seen a gray.

Then let the groomsmen wear something different.

There are a million examples of great light colored suits for weddings. Photogs/video will generally like it because it can be hard to match the contrast of black/white tux/dress.
