Linen Color for antique garden/rustic wedding

Molly, on August 10, 2017 at 11:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

As my decor and vision have evolved, I am trying to decide what color linens I need. We're doing a rustic/antique garden theme. I have a bunch of antique bottles for the tables, I just bought a gorgeous old door to serve as our arch, and we'll be using a lot of ferns and moss in our florals. I'm trying to decide on linen colors. I was originally going to do white with colored napkins but decided with the white chairs I have chosen it would feel too whitewashed. Our colors were originally white, lavender and sage green but now I'm throwing in some mauve and peach as well (bridesmaids will be in deep purple, lilac, and mauve colored dresses). Our venue is an indoor farmers market. I'm thinking dusty rose or khaki might look nice with the theme. I attached the color swatch from the rental company and an idea board of my theme.

I honestly like the freshness of white linen as it would make a nice contrast to all the green and rustic elements, and I wouldn't mind if the chairs are white as well. But if you have to have a different color, my vote goes for dusty rose, to brighten it up a little.

We've got the same theme just different colors. Our colors are blush pink, light sage, cream and tan. Our linens will be cream with tan napkins.

Well we're also ding a white drape divider (we're using the space for both ceremony and reception and need to make it feel like two separate spaces) which is why I think white will be overwhelming. My dress isn't even completely white.

We're going to put banquet tables together to make three long rows of family-style seating. And then out head table. Kind of like a U shape but with an extra guest row. I'd love to do farm tables but they're just not in the budget.

I'd still do white or a neutral

I would do white/ivory... but if you do NOT want to do that, I say Khaki

I wouldn't use khaki. I think it's a bit dark. I would look at ivory from your swatches (which would resemble an old yellowed cloth). If you want to be creative you could add a lace trim with double sided tape. It can easily be removed.

I like peach. It's looks neutral yet it adds a touch of color. I think it would great with your color scheme.

I'm separating my responses so the pics don't get mixed up. I love the idea of doing white cloth with a wide topper, not just a standard width runner. You could use burlap, a more refined fake burlap, or even canvas. The set up would look like the second pic with a wider runner.

My initial though on the khaki was that it would mimic burlap. I like the runner idea but that would be more $$ and I'm paying out of pocket with a limited budget.
