Limit on guests for gown shopping

Lauren, on August 3, 2020 at 6:51 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
Looking for advice if anyone has any!

I recently got engaged and always had the dream of having my bridesmaids join me for dress shopping.
Of course with everything going on a lot of the bridal salons that I'm looking at are limiting it to 2 guests. Does anyone know of some bridal shops in the southern to mid California or Arizona area that are allowing more guests?
I know I'm an idealist but I've always envisioned my friends being there 😭

Are you able to have them join on a video call? That way, they can still see the dresses! You can visit multiple dress shops and bring two different bridesmaids with you each time, and the rest can watch on a video call? I'm so sorry they all aren't able to join you at once, but this may be a good way to still include everyone!

I originally thought I wanted all my bridesmaids and mil there and had planned on them going but honestly this covid was a in a way a blessing. I went dress shopping yesterday and only had my one bridesmaid and mom there and it was the best. Sometimes to many people can cause a lot of problems with deciding on a dress. To many opinions can be a lot to deal with and a lot of confusion and added stress. When I went dress shopping with just the two ladies it was so easy and stress-free I was able to pick the best dress for me. I know every girl dreams about having their bridal party at their dress appointment but trust me it is a blessing not to be able to have all of them. Just make sure you pick 2 people who know you the best and want the best for you.

I had 6 people with me when I went dress shopping. I ended up buying a dress that was not for me, but everyone kept saying how beautiful it was and how beautiful I looked. Well 7 months later, after trying it on 3 times, I hated the dress. 2nd time I took just my mom (we have very different styles) well... again I bought I a dress that she thought was amazing. 2 months later, I couldn’t imagine wearing that dress. One day I said you know what, I’m going alone, just me and my in store stylist. I have now found MY dream dress, with only one opinion that matters. So... sometimes less is better Smiley smile

I agree. I watch that say yes to the dress show and I see a lot of times people bring in a whole group of people and they end up leaving with nothing or you can see the stress they are feeling from having way to many inputs. I think the smaller the group the better of she'll be.

I live in Arizona & none of the wedding dress boutiques allowed more than 2 ppl when I went even my alterations, from what I’ve been told is that they won’t allow it until cases go down 😞

I was thinking the exact same thing. Too many opinions will cause a bunch of unwanted stress. I went dress shopping with all of my bridesmaids and my mom for bridesmens dresses and it was an awful experience because no one could agree.

I'd Suggest Going With The 2 And Video Calling The Rest. I Went Alone And Called My Mom And Sister.

I went with my local bridesmaid and my mom. We video chatted my moh and afterwards sent pictures to the third bridesmaid.
I did a lot of online perusing in my price range before we went. I had actually picked/fell in love with the dress before I tried it on. Everyone else hated it on the model and hoped I wouldn’t get it. (They didn’t tell me that until after the fact) But when I put it on, they fell in love with it too.
You could always take one or two people (like your mom and moh) and then have a lunch date with all your girls to look at all the dresses you tried on and then if you find the one, show it to them last.

I know it’s not really the same, but if it’s that important to have your bridesmaids there, why don’t you try one of the mail at home options like Azazie? Then invite them all over when you get the dresses to try on and that way you can have them all there. I also like the suggestion of a video call with them on it.

Honestly, I'd go with less guests with you. You want 1 person who will be 100% honest with you in choosing your gown.

I don't think you'd want too many people coming with you anyways, idk if I just watched too much tv, but nothing good ever came out of inviting too many people with you to your appointment. Like some others said, maybe do a video call with others so they feel more included.

I'm in SoCal and have been looking around at dress shops as well now I have to figure out who to bring with me & my only fear is hurting someone's feelings lol
