Lighting for Our Dance Floor

Annalise, on May 4, 2017 at 4:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hi All!

I am only 16 days away from my wedding and have decided, last minute, to add lighting to my dance floor. I found out that my DJ does not have any lighting available. The dancing is on the large front porch of our venue. I know it'll be fun for our guests to dance the night away outdoors, but not if they're standing under bright white ceiling lights. I love to dance, but not when I feel like I'm under a spotlight! I'm looking for just a light stand that can be set up next to the DJs table and face out on the dance floor. I've attached a picture of what I'm looking for.

Does anybody have any vendor recommendations or event rental companies that might be able to help me out. I'm sure I won't be able to meet their minimums, but it's worth a shot!

Thank you!

Annalise

Eventions can do very extreme to subtle. They are professionals clearly and have a lot experience with editorial prints.

We are doing cafe lights because our wedding is out doors (same day) and it cost us about $600 for 400ft installed.

If you have a porch, I would call whomever is doing your tables and chairs and linens and see if they can add it.

@Mrs. Fall Bride, My FH works for a DJ and they'll often book themselves for 3 events if 1 doesn't require lighting. They only have 2 sets of the lights but enough sound equipment and employees to do 3. If it's a smaller company that may be the case here

I was going to say what Fall Bride said. If it's a one-man "band", they usually just rent them. YOU shouldn't have to be the one to do this.

Thanks, everybody. It is just a one man business, so I'll reach out to him and see what we can work out. Feel free to keep commenting on this thread with other ideas, just in case!

Good idea checking to see if he has any recommendations! Also check with your venue as they typically have many connections!
