Lighten the mood —-

I’ve told my proposal story a few times on here but here it is again aha because it’s pretty light hearted:


It was a Friday night in and I took a shower. I came out and started painting my nails. My husband asks me to come look out the window and I’m just like ok can it wait I’m busy and he keeps pushing me to come look like omg no please cmon just come see for a second.
So I’m like ugh fine. I go and see he laid out “I love you. Marry me?” In the backyard in rose petals and lit candles while I was taking a shower. And he’s down on one knee behind me and I said in tears “yes but I wish you would have waited when I had pants on” - that’s the kicker aha I didn’t have any pants on. So he put the ring on me and handed me a pair of pants and we laughed aha

My first boyfriend proposed to me during Taco Might. He spelled out will you marry me in cheese and lettuce. We ultimately did not end up together as we were way too young.

I was nine months pregnant and i asked for a back massage from my then boyfriend...... he was rubbing my back and suddenly stops and tells me to sit up .... he seemed nervous..... which was weird .... i told him i didnt want to sit up yet .... he says again aly sit up i have something for u ..... did i mention it was Christmas day .... so i sit up and he hands my a pandora box .... i thought oh a new pandora charm.....he tell me to open the box and he still seemed nervous...... i then figured out its a ring .... even though i didnt open the box yet ..... and i got nervous and was to afraid to open it .... he looks at me and says open it .... i finally open it and sure enough its a ring ..... i take it out of the box and he says it was his mothers from his biological dad .... his dad died around the first year of us dating .... it was a special ring to him and i wear it everyday ..... we had lur beautiful daughter 3days later .... and got married just recently on feb 22 2020 its amazing to be married finally and just before all the crazy happened

My engagement almost didn’t happen the way my fiancé planned because I am so stubborn! He wanted to go on the Gondola the first day we got to Venice but I insisted we do it the 2nd to last night. He laughed and said, “anything you want babe!” I could have been engaged our whole Europe trip. I said to him “you could have been a little more assertive with the gondola ride?!?” He said, “or you ride it out with me from now on?” DEAL!!

So, while getting our engagement photos it happened to be the start of allergy season. I’m a very giggly person and when our photographer had us kiss I laughed. The laugh forced snot right on my FH 😅here’s the moment haha. Photographer thought it was the funniest thing ever.

It was so cold outside that in between pictures I wore a fuzzy wolf blanket while Sean (my ginger husband) and his best friend/officiant were huddled around me to keep me warm:
And, lastly, after an extremely emotional ceremony, the moment we were declared husband and wife and kissed, I bent and whispered in his ear, "Hey! You wanna get the f*** outta here?" And that's when this pic was taken:

So, DH and I actually spent the night before the wedding in separate places. I stayed at home, because my parents were in a nearby hotel, and he stayed at his parents', because they were closer to the venue, and had room for his groomspeople.

In other words, 2 people who had lived together for 2 years and who get cranky when they don't see each other... voluntarily went different places. My parents and I even had dinner without him, so I said goodnight to him outside the subway!

Day of wedding, I'm actually super calm, but by the time I get to the venue to get ready, I'm at the, "I miss DH, and why is it not ceremony time, yet?" stage.

Finally time to walk down the aisle.

Dad walks me down the aisle, he's going all nice and slow, and I'm SPEEDWALKING. Dad, "You are *booking it*, girl." Me: "I WANNA SEE DH!" (You can actually see this exchange on our wedding video.) ...I kind of forgot everyone would stand up and that 3 inch heels would not make me tall enough to see him over them.

Furthermore, when we get to DH, *he* had to remind me not to kiss him (we always kiss hello), and... this is the best part...

When our officiant/friend finished his sermon and came over to us to guide us through vows? He had to ask us to stand further apart, because we were practically nose-to-nose.

...We were a little excited to get married.
