Letting the groom see the veil

Taylor, on July 16, 2018 at 3:29 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

My fiancé and I are getting married August 25th. I was dead set against him seeing anything that I would be wearing on the day apart from my shoes (I have to break them in sometime lol). However, I'm going to be getting my veil from my mom in a couple of weeks in order to bring it to my hair trial. My fiancé is a very nosey man, so I'm assuming he'll find it no matter where I hide it. Plus, I want to experiment a little at home with headbands and such to see what they would look like with my veil. So, should I let him see me in the veil? Or should I just try and play with different styles while he isn't around? Will it take away from him seeing the completed look on the day? Help..

It won't take away from the completed look because you will have your dress, your make up, etc. the day of. Maybe play with it, and if he happens to see it he does. But I don't think you need to purposely go show him. But no, I don't feel it will take away from him seeing you walk down the aisle!

My FH has seen my veil, he just hasn't seen it on. I put it on with my hair in the bathroom and closed and locked the door.

I like that he's nosey and curious! I'm getting married that day too! I think you're okay letting him take a sneak peak, especially if you're not necessarily wearing it -- and even that's okay!

My fiancé has seen my veil because I have two a chapel length and a finger tip length and I genuinely can’t decide what I like best. So I asked his opinion 🤷🏻‍♀️

Woo! Wedding day twins! Curiousity killed the cat, but that doesn’t seem to stop him lol. I only kept his Christmas present a secret because I hid it in someone else’s house UNDER THEIR BED 😂

I think if he sees you with it, it'll be ok. My FH has seen my shoes and how I'm doing my hair and make-up. It won't take anything away becaus they don't know the entire look.

I think if he sees it it'll be ok. My FH has seen some of my jewelry and how I want my hair and makeup. He's also seen the veil and tiara I want as he is the one paying for it. My veil will be custom made so I want his opinion when I get the final sketch. I don't really have girlfriend's I can discuss anything about the wedding with as they are busy or uninterested in wedding stuff so if I don't discuss with him or let him see items I'd go crazy. He will probably see my shoes too as I wear them around the house to break them in, make sure they fit and look good with my dress. It won't take anything away from your look as your FH won't know what you will look like so it'll still be a surprise. Chances are seeing the veil will just make him look even more forward to seeing you with it on.

My husband saw the veil, but not while I was wearing it. I think that overall the veil is a small part of the completed look, so it won't hurt if he sees it ahead of time Smiley smile

My fiance has seen my jewelry, veil, shoes, basically everything but the dress and even that's been a STRUGGLE lol
