Letters to each other

I haven't attended a wedding where this was done, but it sounds like a cute idea! My fiance and are going to read our vows that we wrote to each other when we do our first look, rather than in front of everyone.

I haven't seen this done at a wedding either. If you aren't doing a first look you guys can write cards and read them before the ceremony too. I also think having the officiant read them too is sweet.

I've not seen that but that's cute. However I don't feel like that's something the officiant should have read though. Think it'd have been cuter if the couple read it to each other

Yes, I’ve seen them do this, it’s sweet. but I think it’s sweeter reading the letters privately before or after the wedding. The officiants voice takes some of the romance out of it.

My fiancée and I are doing more traditional vows as well for the same reason. The letter idea would be cute, but we’re opting to do letters in private. If you want them read during the ceremony, it’s definitely a great options because you won’t have to struggle to get through it yourself, but it might mean more as a moment with just you and your fiance

Same here! (Although I know I'll cry no matter what.) We are writing letters to each other that we will exchange before the wedding instead of doing a first look.
