Let’s talk wedding favors?

I’m Really on the fence about weather or not we need wedding favors. We are having a very small wedding so it wouldn’t be much of an expensive…I’m just not sure if they are relevant and if they are what I should get…Who uses them and if so what did you choose ?

Instead of a wedding favor, I’m choosing to do a late night snack! Something they can munch on on their way out!

Save your money. Either keep it in the bank for a rainy day or put the money toward the guest experience (good food, free drinks, great dj) or photos for your memories. Even when they are edible, favors get left behind and your money is wasted.

Edible favors are one per person while non edibles are one per couple.

I love edible favors! The last thing FH and I need in our house is more stuff 😂 We've been to 3 weddings now that had decorate sugar cookies in little cellophane pouches, and I still haven't gotten tired of them.

A friend of mine did stemless wine glasses and it's still the most used wine glass in my mom's house, but it probably wouldn't be used in mine, and we for sure don't need anymore koozies or coasters (though if your entire friend group has given out the same favor at each wedding, it would be neat to have that collection!).

My sister had a small wedding and made and bottled her own limoncello which was super neat, so that's another consumable. If we had done a local wedding, I would have done small pots of Pothos cuttings! We'll just do welcome bags of snacks for our destination wedding instead!

In lieu of doing wedding favors we are going to pick a charity and make a donation. We will have a little sign that talks about the charity and why it’s important to us.

Not a favor per se. Thinking about custom hand sanitizers for before the family style dinner.

I was hesitant on doing wedding favors, but decided to do them since I went on etsy and found affordable, in my budget, I am doing little box suitcases with a compass on it and we are putting our favorite candy in it. It sounds big but its not and it goes with our theme.

We're saving $ and skipping them altogether. Personally, I've never really cared for taking favors home because I know it will either be tossed or add to junk/clutter. We will be having a fun photo booth that prints pics on the spot, so that kind of counts as a favor I guess, and people are more inclined to keep those.

I think its really nice when people do something meaningful as a favor but I also don't think anyone would be sad if they didn't get something. Best favors, from guest perspective, are edible or something useful like a shot glass or candle. We're having a NYE wedding and our favors are the glasses, hats, and usual NYE props. They'll use it that night and if they want to take it home they can, otherwise no big deal. It wasn't in our budget to do anything extra at this point.

I had this bottle opener on my keychain for years, LOL! Ended up taking it off bc my keys were getting too bulky but I still think it's so pretty, I keep it in a drawer in the bar in our family room now.

Agree with all who've said they aren't necessary and people don't expect them or care if they don't get them. I had a bowl of York peppermint patties out with a sign explaining this tradition my grandpa used to have of handing them out to guests as they were leaving his house. We put it on our dessert table so people could grab one as an after-dinner/dessert mint. Technically those were our "favors" but it was a "grab one if you want one" sort of setup, and I'm not sure many people took advantage. We also did extra food ("late night bites" of sliders and a gourmet fry station and a hot cocoa bar) - which is also not necessary and was honestly excessive bc our reception wasn't that long, but we were under our catering minimum after all our COVID declines so we had to add cost anyway, and I think people appreciated it even if they left feeling a little stuffed, LOL.

I’m going with something edible. I feel like bubbles or magnets coasters etc get tossed. You could do a like candy bar with little take home boxes or bags.
