Let's talk trash

Diane, on November 23, 2018 at 11:03 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11
....receptacles that is.

I'm having a backyard wedding on 9.21.19 and I'm kind of lost for what to do about trash cans. I know my one waste management bin isn't going to cut it for my 100+ guests, and I also don't want it to look trashy (no pun intended). Any suggestions?

Following! I am having a state park wedding and have to provide all the trash receptacles as well. I’ve been looking at buying a few of the aluminum cans from Walmart, but I think we would need at least 4, and they’re around $40 each I think. I’m hesitant to buy the cheap $10 black plastic ones, but don’t want to spend tons of money on garbage, literally!!

Yesss!!!! The aluminum ones look better in my opinion, but I can't bring myself to spend that much on something like that!! Never thought this would be one of my stressors with wedding planning! 😂 Why the hesitation with the cheap ones? Looks or are you worried about them not being able to do the job?

You can rent trash cans from an event rental company.

It’s 100% a looks thing. I’m picky, and mildly vain, and I much prefer the overall look of the metal ones lol. But I’m unwilling to spend the money on them, so will most likely opt for the plastic. Which is fine!!

Sooo... what if you got the cheap black ones, and spray painted them whatever color you wanted? You know like silver, rose gold, whatever? Kinda considering going that route myself...

I love that idea! I might consider it, depends on how much time/effort I really want to put into it. In the end I don’t mind just buying them and leaving them black, it’s one day!

That's a really good idea. Especially if you already have the spray paint from other DIYs.

Walmart sells trash cans for $10-$20 a piece. I've also seen rental companies rent them for events.

I bought brand new black ones for ours and they were fine. No one really even noticed them.
