Okay so who will be tanning before their wedding??? Originally I was just going to try to avoid the sun (is that possible in the south?) before the wedding so I wouldn't have tan lines. However I've been playing around with the idea of hitting the tanning bed for the next couple of months. YES I know it's horrible for your skin, but so is growing up in Texas haha. I've never used a tanning bed before and will probably never will after the wedding either.

So what are y'alls thoughts? Anyone doing this?

The white spots are typically caused by a fungus called tinea veriscolor. You can use over the counter dandruff shampoos or anti-fungal creams to treat it. Prescription options might clear it faster.

My mom was an avid tanning bed user. She is also a melanoma survivor. You should never intentionally put yourself at risk for a life-threatening disease. That's the dumbest idea I've ever heard.

Do not use a tanning bed.

I'm considering this only because I will be coming right off of summer and there's no way to avoid tan lines with summer clothes and swimsuit! I tan really easily so I'll probably only buy a couple sessions! Plus FH is super white so I don't want to be too tan!

Thanks Jennifer! Yes! I knew it was something related to dandruff. I remember seeing it and thinking "FH uses this for his hair"

I started going to the tanning bed this week! I feel so much more confident when I'm tan and my skin feels better too.

I will be avoiding tanning beds and not putting myself at risk for skin cancer.

I was going to try and avoid the sun too, but that's not going to happen...we are going to Hawaii this summer, so I'll def have tan lines. Spray than for me!

I use a tanning bed with the approval of my dermatologist and the knowledge that I will have a skin cancer scare at some point in my life. I wear SPF in the tanning bed, and I am only in there for literally three or four minutes max. And I have skin checks every three months during use and every six months not during use. My dermatologist only approves because I am so pale I burn in the summer even with a strong sunscreen. I get barely any color, but I don't burn anymore in the sun. And we are going to the Caribbean for our honeymoon so it's more to avoid that awful burn than anything. If you are going to use a tanning bed you must be super proactive about skin cancer screenings and be aware of the consequences.

I live in Texas too and will be getting married in July. I'm just planning on using mostly strapless tops when I spend extended time in the sun.

I will be tanning from a bottle and a professional organic spray tan. My dermatologist told me that I am skin cancer waiting to happen and I should avoid any future sun exposure.

Also anybody that has a dermatologist that recommends a tanning bed because they are fair or burn easily should find a new Doctor or report them to the board because that is ridiculous and there isn't evidence based science to support it.

I'm hitting up sun tan city 2-4x within the next 9 weeks. But I already know that's all the times I need with one double dip to get rid of my winter pale. Lol I I can't do only spray tan because obviously it leaves a orange tint and I'm not trying to have Trump's tan lines lmao

I'm getting an airbrush tan to have a wedding glow Smiley smile mostly because I'm very pale and burn the second the sun hits me haha

ETA also skin cancer runs in my family so I'm going to try to avoid that as well!

Just wear mostly strapless stuff for the month before your wedding when you're in the sun. Use sunscreen and lay out in the sun for a few minutes once a week. If all else fails, a nice light spray tan to even out the skin tone.

I'm pretty fair & do tanning beds on occasion (prebaking before winter cruises so I don't burn as easily, lol); airbrush tan may be better than a booth spray tan, but I worry about product getting on your dress if you sweat, and it can look splotchy a few days after it's done. If you spray, definitely exfoliate well in the days prior!

Yeah.... I'm honestly planning on doing the same. I'm planning on a low back dress and the wedding is in May. And I just feel better with a tan. My pool won't be open by the time the wedding comes around so I plan on tanning a few times prior. I know it's terrible lol but I'm still doing it. :/ I've done air brush tans before and I hated it. I felt way too orange. Self tanners have been a disaster as well. The last thing I want is to look like an orange on my wedding day. So Ill start tanning gradually before the wedding. Im also Colombian so I get color fairly quickly lol
