Lets talk Rings

Crystal, on February 12, 2020 at 11:52 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 23

How do you ladies keep your rings sparkly? I wash my hands often and I'm too scared to take my rings off every time to wash my hands. I also use sanitizer, and lotion, but I do take my rings off to put lotion on. I just feel like the sparkle goes away with using too much water! I think my jeweler is sick of seeing me, coming in to request my rings get shined up. Do you do anything at home to keep them twinkling?

I just get it cleaned by my jeweler a couple times a year. You could also ask your jeweler if they have a product you can use at home to clean it

My jewelry suggested this method- boil hot water and add a little dish soap any will work to a cup and let my ring soak in there for 10-15 mins then use a soft bristle brush to gently scrub it. Run it under warm water and let it dry with a microfiber towel or air dry. It looks as good as when the jewelry store cleans it. I do this about once a week its easy and I love the way my rings looks after. Hope this helps!

I use at home jewelry cleaner that is specifically made for diamonds and gold metals (gold/white gold). I clean my rings every week to 2 weeks at home. Then, get them cleaned by a jeweler every 6 months. My e-ring and band sparkles like they are brand new Smiley love !

I would take your ring off when you put hand sanitizer on (personally). I keep my ring on when I wash my hands with normal soap, but take it off when I work out, hike, camp, fish, hunt, garden, wash dishes, clean the house with harsh chemicals, or do manual labor. I have silicone ring I can wear in those situations. I get my ring steam cleaned & prongs checked every 1-2 months, and use an at home cleaner weekly. I've worn it for over 2 years so I continue to do that routine.

I get it cleaned every six months. I don’t expect it to stay as sparkly in between cleanings.

I keep my ring on when I wash my hands, but I do take it off when I shower, cook, clean, or put on lotion. I have an at home gel cleaner with a tiny toothbrush that I use about once a week, but I try to take it to the jewelers about once a month to have it professionally cleaned (it's free under our protection plan). It sparkles like the day I got it when the jeweler cleans it!

I got a ring cleaner kit from a bridal show and I LOVE it! But I'm not home and I can't think of the brand right now.

I get mine cleaned every few months at the jewelry store and then I also keep a soft toothbrush in my shower and at my sink to just brush it off with hot water when I wash my hands. It stays pretty shiny.

I use this cleaning stick that works wonders! It's really affordable and easy to use between professional cleanings.

Here's what I use! It works great for me. My ring is white gold and diamond, but I've also used it on some cheaper earrings and necklaces (CZ, sterling silver) that I have and it even cleaned those up nicely Smiley smile

I do what a PP wrote: warm water with a bit of dish soap, after 15 mins soak it under running water. I don't get a lot of gunk in it so I don't need to use a soft bristle brush. My sister also uses this method, and we both do it once a week on the weekend Smiley smile

I also have some solution my jeweler gave me. He told me to not use what amazon or target sells cause it's got harsh chemicals.

I believe it is called Brilliance or Brilliant Jewelry Cleaner

You can also ask your jeweler if they have a at home cleaning product they recommend.

I got their whole kit. It has this cleaner pictured and you just let or soak for a few minutes and then clean your ring with this little brush. It also came with a refill bottle, this quick foam cleaner, and polish. I don't like to use the polish but only because it's kind of a pain lol but it does work.
