Lets talk hotel bags?!

Heather, on September 16, 2019 at 10:27 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 4 16
Hi beautiful brides and brides to be.
For those who are doing or did hotel gift bags, what did you place in them?
I am hoping to have some sort of print out, saying welcome / thank you for coming.
I want it to have shuttle information to get to the venue on it.
Plus things to do in the area etc.
does anyone have a picture or something to share of how the did it? And worded it?

We will also be having a bottle of my dads homemade Italian wine, corkscrews, water bottles and our favorite local treats in them.

Granted I am making everything myself because i am having only 20 people besides me the groom and my soon at the wedding. I am printing out a lugage tag template and making them personally for the bag on the outside just saying Welcome blah blah blah.... and personalizing it with their name.

Maybe you could do a little FAQ sheet to go in the bag. Giving them that basic info to make it all fit or just add it all to it. Like do a little welcome on the front of the print out and on the back do a little piece that says all the information that you want to give the guess.

Maybe if the shuttle is coming at a certain time for sure do a little short day of schedule for them to have their own copy that way they have all the information they need right in front of them?

I was hoping to have it all on one page.
    Welcome to our wedding.
    It means so much etc
Here’s some important reminders. The shuttle leaves at ....
hope you enjoy the wine etc. I just don’t know how to word it and make it look nice.

I would maybe start off with using welcome almost like a header on he page. Big and bold or fancy on the top. Something to make sure it catches their attention. Since some of your guest might just be to tired to notice something simple after their travels. Then add in your whole it means a lot to the page. Maybe depending on the number of guest you are having that you need to make a welcome bag for try to personalize that part of it a little just to add a little more meaning to it.

Then I would say something along the lines of. We wanted to show our appreciation to you for making it all this way with blank blank and blank. ( whatever it is exactly you are putting in the bag. Wine name snack names). Maybe even add in something like ' This is FH favorite snack _____ and also here is mine we love them so much and thought you would to'

with the reminders you could try something like ' We know you are probably tired from your trip. So we just wanted to give you a list of reminders about the day. That way you don't have to worry about missing out on any of the fun during your stay.' that way you could add in any times for them addresses ect.

And as you had said in the orginal post about wanting to tell them about some things around the area that they could do you could put something like 'If youre able to stay in town more than just for our big day we have some fun activies and places we think you'd love to check out'

The bags I got on Amazon and the pamphlets I made on Zazzle! I picked out a random pamphlet (I think it was for a yoga company or something) and edited it to work for us!

    My welcome boxes included:

    - caramel popcorn

    - chili lime peanuts

    - cookies

    - granola bars

    - ponytail holders

    - chapstick

    - makeup remover wipes

    - 2 bottles of water

    - a hangover kit that included Advil, Emergen-C, Shout wipes, bandaids, mouthwash, mints and a granola bar.

The boxes were placed in each guest's room before arrival along with an itinerary, a card addressed specifically to that guest and a bottle of wine.

I will likely be doing bags for the 40 out of town guests we have. I plan to include the following (couples will have two of each, individuals will have one,):

    - Mini Bottle of San Pelligrino Speaking water

    - Pack of Advil (2 pills per pack)

    - Bag of Gardettos Snack Mix

    - Nature Valley Granola Bar

    - Mints

    - Emerg-C Packet

I am going to use a printable Thank You note I found on Etsy and tie it to the outside of the bag. I was thinking about doing a little list of our favorite places to eat or something like that on the Thank You note as well. All in all, with delivery fees at the hotel, each bag should be about $8.

Thank you! I got them on Etsy from PreppingParties. Yes, 2 full sized water bottles fit on the bottom (laying down) and then I added everything else on top. The boxes were pretty big and you can buy matching itineraries separately which is what I did.

We also did the personalized door hangers! I loved how they turned out.

Then our bags had: water bottles, a salty snack (a bag of chips or pretzels), a sweet snack (a bag of cookies), a bottle of Gatorade and Advil pocket pack (for the inevitable hangover!), a tourist map of the city (Washington, DC), and bottle of Old Bay seasoning (🤣 FH’s favorite, we wanted to include a fun local product). Guests seemed to love them!

All of my guests are local except my sister but she used to live here so my welcome backs are going to be more of a pre party drink and snack for after check in before the ceremony but I haven’t fully decided yet.

I’m also putting a hangover kit in each room
