Let's Talk Donuts/doughnuts

Mrs. Putz, on March 5, 2019 at 1:40 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11

I am curious on people who are having or had donuts for their dessert at their wedding!

Where did you get your donuts from? Or where do you plan to get them from?

How do you plan on displaying them and keeping them from drying out?

If you had them - success or failure?

Thinking the fiance and I will have to go around the city and taste all the donuts to find the ones we like best Smiley winking

I did not have donuts but I have been to 3 wedding where they had them! My favorite display was like a board with a bunch of short sticks sticking out so the donuts were hanging there with the sticks thorough the holes haha it looked great but what i noticed is that every wedding had MANY left over. A lot of people seem to not like donuts as much so don't buy too many!

We're having a donut display! They're provided by a popular bakery in my area - Palermo's - along with the other Italian dessert goodies on our Venetian Table Smiley tongue They'll be displayed like this!

We are having donuts but they are larger than most places and don't have the hole in the middle (look up Scream'n Nuts Alpharetta GA and you'll see what I mean). I am struggling to figure out exactly how I want them organized, and will probably ask what their past weddings they have catered have done. I'm thinking we will have to have the boxes under the table and a catering staff member can help replenish them as needed. Also, to avoid having tons that we have to take home ourselves, we will be getting little bags or boxes from Oriental Trading so people may take them home! We will have three or four flavors, but nothing too crazy (one white chocolate, one chocolate or chocolate cannoli, and white chocolate lavender). We are also having a smaller cake since we will have the donut option, too.

Omg I’m supposed to go to a bakery called Palermo’s in Ridgefield NJ- if this is the same one as yours, would you recommend it? Our venue includes the cake from this bakery and I was wondering if it was a good place.

We are getting donuts from our favorite donut place ( Cider Belly Donuts in NY). We are having a rustic barn wedding and I am planning on using/stacking crates and filling them with donuts. The place we get them from they don't dry out so fast and they make them the morning of so I'm not worried about any of that.

something like this but with donutsLet's Talk Donuts/doughnuts 2

We got them from a local doughnut shop in Newburyport, MA and my dad made this stand. The venue replenished them throughout the night so they weren't all displayed at once.

We had them as our late night snack. We got them from one of our favorite donut shops in the area (we found them on Instagram) called Twisted & Glazed in Paso Robles, CA. Ours were served as a late night snack, so they were not displayed all night. Nothing worse than a dry donut! The caterer put them out on platter and we had little boxes from Etsy so that people could take them home. We only had a few left.

We're doing doughnuts! We're getting them from the grocery store Giant because I love their doughnuts, haven't secured a display yet but I do like the tiers with the mini cake on top because we got a unique cake topper

We had donuts from Krispy Kreme - called and ordered them a week ahead of time. They were put out an hour and a half before ceremony and I had one once we got to the hotel and they were still delicious!
