Let’s See Your Ring! (and hear all about your proposal)

This is my sparkler! ✨ The proposal was a complete surprise! FH knew how much I loved Christmas and the Christkindlmarket in Chicago, and I hadn’t been able to go the past couple years, so he surprised me with a day trip. We ate delicious food, did some shopping, drank warm mulled wine at the Christkindlmarket, then ended the evening at Navy Pier. He remembered that the view of the city skyline from Navy Pier was my favorite view of the city, so he got down on one knee and proposed there, with the beautiful skyline lit up behind him. It was absolute perfection! ❤️

Engaged December 2020! He created a little ‘scavenger hunt’ that ended on a bride over water. It was freezing cold (like 20 degrees) and I was super hangry 😅 definitely not romantic, but I don’t care 😌

My fiancé has wanted to get married for a looong time, so last December we finally decided to do it. Then in July he set up a dinner at a nice restaurant with the two of us and my parents (he knows family is VERY important to me), and popped the question between dinner and dessert. He was dressed in a nice suit, so I thought something was up, but he didn’t tell me, so it was a surprise! It was really special night, I loved it.

These are my rings! Our engagement was a total surprise to me. My fiance proposed to me with the peridot ring while we were on vacation, watching the sunset over a lake, and it was a total shock! Definitely did not expect it. We then picked out a second ring together a couple months after we got engaged.

We’d had such a great day and night, and I was ready to just walk back to the car and start driving home. I couldn’t figure out why he was dragging his feet on leaving! 😆 The sweetness behind the moment sure takes away the cold quickly though, doesn’t it? 💕

here's my ring

I knew it was coming, but the situation was a bit unusual. DH had been in the ICU for a week or so after having a bad reaction to Excedrin, and my parents came up to visit us at the hospital when he got out of ICU. We were down in the parking lot talking to them, and DH asked my parents' permission to marry me. He never technically asked me, but after we were back in the room by ourselves he went, "You know we are basically engaged now, right?"

We weren't able to talk much about it that night because literally three hours later his BP plummeted and he was rushed into emergency surgery with a 20% survival chance, but almost three years later, we have been together 7.5 years, married for 5 months, and talking about trying for another baby!

I love my ring my fiancé proposed on July 4th 2020 at sunset in a field of flowers we had parked there to watch the fireworks as soon as I said yes fireworks went off. Can’t wait to marry him in April

My fiancé proposed during a game night using Magic the Gathering cards he'd put together in a wedding theme. Super nerdy, but it suits us. 😅

These stories are all very sweet. My fiance and I got engaged in April 2020, a few months after our country went into full lockdown.

He had a whole meaningful trip planned out, but because of covid that wasn't possible. Instead, he snuck out to buy me flowers from my best friend the florist while I was doing a zoom pilates class. Then, he set up a laptop on our balcony with a live stream of the zoo (I really love the zoo and had missed it since we went into lockdown), and asked while watching the giraffes being fed. It was a very intimate and romantic moment, and really special that for a awhile, we were the only two people in the whole world who knew it had happened.

The absolute love of my life surprised me with a weekend getaway for part of my Christmas present. He gave me a hint for my original gift on Christmas day and then one additional hint each week until we went away. We went to Lake Placid, NY and stayed at the beautiful Lake Placid Lodge. It was the most amazing weekend of my life. On Saturday he told me he wanted to get a nice picture with the mountains in the background and after he set the Go Pro up on the tripod we were set to take pictures. To my surprise… it was a proposal. I was in absolute shock - I said yes before he even asked the question 😅.
