Let's see your diy Signs

Emma, on February 25, 2020 at 8:12 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 21

How are y'all doing your DIY signs? I'm trying to make them and keep it cheap, but I just don't really know how I want to do them. I've thought about printing and either putting it in a cute little frame or tracing it onto the glass in the frame. I need ideas!

I like the frame idea or you can buy 2x4 or 2x10, paint or stain them and stencil words over top. theres good stencil places on amazon or etsy

I can’t find all my pictures right this second but I bought a template on Etsy and made all of my own. I put them in frames and they were perfect. Here’s a picture my sister took of the one on our memory table I used different frames to match our colors this one just happened to be white Let's see your diy Signs 1

These are mine so far! I have to make my memory table sign, reserved sign, and ones for cards, gifts, cake flavor, etc. My nephews will carry these down the aisle. Let's see your diy Signs 2

Cute! Did you use different size frames for different signs or were they all the same? Also where did you end up getting frames? I feel like maybe I'm being too picky every time I look at frames.

I used different size frames and I just picked them up when I found the colors I wanted. My colors were blue, yellow and white. I found some at Walmart and Michaels., etc.

I love this! I've been keeping an eye out for thrifted windows but haven't seen any yet. Are you putting them on easels?

I haven't figured that out yet, but most likely they will be! Gotta double check if the venue has some easels!

This paint and sip I worked for have a graph-tec stencil cutter (like the opposite of a cricut) at their business and told me to have a field day and make signs for the wedding.

I designed them all in adobe illustrator and then just cut it on the stencil cutter. The guest board sign I had to draw from scratch and then scan onto the computer and put into illustrator.

The sheet of ply I got from Lowes for $50 and they it cut down into pieces for you at the store. They were all painted with acrylic paint and the lettering sponged in the stencil.

There are different types of stencil cutters that are like graph-tec and easy to use the other owners used in the franchise I worked for. I can always ask my old bosses if they're interested and I can help you design something. It's like making a word document. I just need to make sure they'd let me use their cutter.

I used plexiglas from Lowe's and printed out what I wanted the sign to say then traced it on the plexiglas with a white paint pen. I dont have any pictures of my signs but they look very similar to these. They were cheap and I didn't need a lot of artistic talent for them. Haha

I used my silhouette for them. They're mostly acrylic. The mirror was in the attic of my house when I bought it.
