Let’s eat cake

We’re ordering bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cakes! It’s a fraction of the cost of cupcakes.

We did a small cutting cake for us. For the guests we did root beer floats. They were a hit AND it saved us a lot of money!!

Sam's club! They have delicious cakes and cupcakes at a really low cost.

You can get a small cake for you two to cut then some grocery store cupcakes or even a donut stand.

We’re doing donuts. I got a quote from our donut place for $10/dozen if we order 10 dozen or more. Way cheaper than a cake plus no worries on who’s going to cut and serve. We will likely do a giant letter V (new last name) as our “cut the cake” donut.

We are using the restaurant's bakery where we are having the reception. I initially went to Publix (southern grocery store) but it cost more and didn't taste as good. Maybe ask around on Facebook.

I'd say do a lot of research! My brother and sister-in-law did a lot of research when they were planning their wedding and they found a local lady who makes cakes out of her kitchen. It's not her full time job, it's just something she does on the side, and they got their cake, cupcakes and cookies for around $200.

My FH and I are extremely lucky and are having a co-worker of mine's wife make our cake for us. She makes cakes for a living and they are delicious! I'd say ask around and see if anyone you know knows someone who makes cakes. Often times, if you are referred to them by a friend, you may get a discount on it.

A good way to save money if you want to do more desserts is to make them yourself. We're having a dessert bar at our wedding and myself, my sister, my 2 FSIL's, my FMIL and my grandmother are all getting together 2 days before the wedding to bake everything for the dessert bar. We're saving a ton of money by doing it ourselves.

Do a small "cut cake" and cupcakes for the guests! Or a small "cut cake" and a sheet cake from a grocery store bakery for the guests!

I would just buy store bought. E.g. buying store bought cupcakes and other desserts are way cheaper
