Let me see your Costco/Sam's Club flowers PAGING LUCILLE

Deanna, on July 11, 2017 at 10:05 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 24

Starting to stress about prices for flowers. Florists seem to be priced high in my area for our reception centerpieces. Has anyone ordered in bulk from Costco or Sam's Club? How did they turn out!?

Here is the look I am going for...

I haven't but I looked into it, they have great reviews. I ended up with Wegmans and they gave an amazing quote. U should check then out if they're in your area. Good luck!

I have looked at sams club. Their prices are less expensive than a traditional florist, but I didn't see anything like your inspiration pic on their website. You can buy flowers in bulk though, so you may be able to piece together this look. I've heard that Whole Foods and Trader Joe's also does flowers for much less

I didn't get mine from either of those but, instead ordered from fiftyflowers.com & was very satisfied! It is A LOT of work to do them yourself but, I only paid $350 for all of my flowers! If you're going to do it, get some help & everyone that's helping, including you, should watch lots of YouTube tutorials & practice with grocery store flowers at least once. Good luck! Not Sam's but just want to share. I'm using silk for the church pews, still working on them

I bought a ton of garland from Sam's Club for my 8/12/17 wedding. The money was going in and out of my bank account and finally stayed in. I called them to make sure I'll still get my order on 8/10 and that I was paid up. They claim that I'm paid, but I still have the money! I'm soooo worried that I won't end up getting my garland and I don't know what else to do. :/

Check out The Bouqs! They have a DIY package where you arrange yourself, but they also have a ready-to-go package with the bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, etc. already arranged. They have great reviews regarding quality too.

I didn't order mine from Costco but I've heard that they do a great job. My local community college has a horticulture program and they do flower arrangements for events. I got all of mine for $400, including flowers for the altar and they do a great job. Just an idea if you have any colleges close to you it might be worth it to check it out. Smiley smile

Go ahead and order from Sam's, but please, don't believe floral designers, "cost so much for the little work." You have no idea.

@Rachel D. I just meant I got quoted $1,200 for 10 centerpieces with a few flowers in mason jars. I just thought that was very high. I know florists put in a lot of hard work for weddings and tons of other events. Smiley smile

@Nonna Thank you. I will do that. Smiley smile

I definitely wasn't saying its a lot of work as I know it is and have no idea where to begin with it and can't even imagine all the time they put into so many different styles of bouquets and such. I was just saying some places around my area seem to be a little on the high side.

@Kieryn I don't Smiley sad All i have is Kroger and I have to drive almost an hour to get to Whole Foods and Trader Joes.

@Kate, I'm like you, I want to save money the best I can and I am not picky when it comes to flowers, If they don't look just like a picture I'm not going to flip out, I just want the color scheme to go together which I don't think it will be too hard to find alternatives and work with different flowers. I will probably go to Kroger and practice with what I can find, then go from there.

I'm currently looking at doing a combo of Sam's club/Costco (same company) and blooms in a box (online). Sam's club has the sunflowers I want, while blooms in a box has the succulents I want. We do have a local Trader Joe's and I noticed that their sunflowers are on point size-wise and not very expensive either so I'll be checking with them before I formally place my order with Sam's Club/Costco, though. Here's a mock up of my centerpieces. Obviously not the same flowers, but just for some inspiration that you can make it all work. It'll cost about $450 for all flowers, mind you succulents are freaking expensive :p

@Kristin those are really pretty! Does Trader Joes offer a wide variety of flowers? I have only been in there a few times and I can't really remember their flowers and what they had. Might swing in there this weekend

Kroger has great flowers if they have an in house designer and buyer.
