Leopard Print at a wedding?

Kiki, on April 24, 2019 at 10:53 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 23

One of my girlfriends is going to a wedding in October, she asked me what I thought of her dress I have attached a photo it's leopard. I wondering what peoples takes are on this I mean the style is certainly wedding appropriate but what do we think of leopard?

I have told her just to avoid it but I wanted to hear from other brides on how they feel about it?

I'd like to add I love the dress and it would not bother me at my wedding but I'm not sure about others I just want opinions.

Why do you think she should avoid it?

I see no problem with the dress or the print.

As a guest? Who cares. I think it's gorgeous.

I wore a leopard print cocktail length dress to a wedding last summer!! I don’t see an issue as long as it’s a more casual wedding and not black tie or super formal venue

I personally love it I'm just worried some bridezillas out there might think a loud print steals their thunder if someone wore leopard to my wedding it would not bother me.

I dont think there's any real cause to worry about stealing a brides thunder with a printed dress...
I've gotten compliments on a plain red dress at a wedding before...does that mean I stole all of the attention from the bride? No...not in the slightest.
It's a cute dress and guests should be allowed to wear whatever colors and patterns they want.

I wouldn’t care either but I understand what you’re saying. You’re not really supposed to wear anything that could “up stage” the bride. I recently learned from my mother that red isn’t even considered appropriate to wear to a wedding. I think it depends on the bride. If I didn’t know the bride very well I wouldn’t wear anything too loud

I personally am not a fan of animal prints...just never have been. BUT I don't see an issue with someone else wearing that dress to a wedding.

I don't think there is an issue. I think it's appropriate. However I lean more more towards casual for my own wedding. My mom and one of my FSMIL's are freaking out about what to wear. Asking me colors, showing me examples. FSMIL has asked if black is ok and I've said of course, but heck I like black haha. She sent me an example and I suggested a belt and jewelry that would make it perfect and she loved it. But I am also pretty laid back as well

Oh, one thing I wanted to add that would help us say yay or nay is what is the dress code for the wedding? I'd lean more away from that if, say, it's a black tie dress code.

Just cocktail attire, I'm going to tell her most brides seem to be okay with it. I've been told before to try and avoid things that are too loud so I was unsure, personally leopard wouldn't offend me and I think it's a lovely dress.

I've heard that about red as well so I thought leopard was more out there then that. I always stick to navy, hunter green or black with a floral print.

Agreed, stress is high around wedding time, all brides, including myself, can get a little crazy lol and you never know what might make one bride really unhappy even if it’s pretty irrational

I wouldn't care. To me, I'm happy as long as no one is in white. No other color/print/fabric bothers me.

I would tell her if she has any trepidation to shoot the bride a FB message or text just asking if leopard print is ok. Would take alllllllll the question out if it. 😊

I'm just going to show her the thread and let her make the decision I wouldn't want my guests asking me for outfit approval us brides are busy enough as it is I feel if you have to ask better to just avoid instead.

Not my style at all and I would never wear leopard print to a wedding, but I see no issue with it.
