Leap year?

Valerie, on July 30, 2020 at 11:12 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10
As if COVID wasn’t enough now I’m reading that it’s “bad luck” to get married during a leap year. Does anyone believe this is true??

I think that’s just a superstition. It’s kind of like when people say it’s bad to see the groom before the wedding but everyone has first looks nowadays

I got married on Leap-Day....so I certainly hope not...

The only superstition I knew of was an old Irish tradition where women can propose to their significant others on leap day...like a sadie hawkins dance kinda thing.

No superstitions are "true" unless you believe in them. Are we all having a lot of bad luck this year? Yes. Does that have anything to do with the fact that it happens to be a leap year? No.

Many things people consider to be tradition are actually superstitions. There is nothing bad about marrying during a leap year, etc.

Like everyone else said, no superstitious are "true" unless you believe them! But I got engaged this past Leap Day, so I certainly don't think it's bad luck!
