lds brides!!!!!

I haven’t been a member for a long time, so I want to know if you get seald in the temple, you have to wear a dress with long sleeves or you can use whatever you want? Another question, can I have a ceremony after being seald with the bishop like a normal ceremony? Because I have seen a lot of videos of LDS wedding but I have never seen the ceremonies. In the videos they just get seald and then they have the reception. Last question, is it ok to use a dress when I get seald and another one for the reception and ceremony (if it’s ok to have a ceremony) or I have to use the same dress for the table and reception and ceremony? Please tell me 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I believe your dress has to be modest so at least capped sleeves for the temple sealing, that way your garments are covered.
I've always seen a quick ring exchange ceremony done before the reception so those guests who cant go in the temple for that part still get a wedding feel. I imagine you can still wear 2 dresses if you want, keeping the whole modesty thing in mind!

Are you taking a marriage prep class at church? I imagine they could definitely help clear up more questions!

Yeah you are right! And do you know if they do the civil marriage before the sealing of after the Sealing? Or do they do it when they exchange rings?

My aunt got married in her local ward building with a strapless dress on. It was as regular as any wedding. Later on they got temple recomends and she had to dress modestly for her sealing.

My fsil got married in a temple. After the sealing she put on a wedding dress her husband put on a suit and they exited the temple dressed as though it was a typical wedding (I know they were something else inside not sure what though). They had a reception and about a week later they had a ring ceremony for friends and family at the local lds church and a second reception. Hope that helps!

Hey girl, so you need to make sure it's long enough to cover your garments, and they specify to you the requirements when you call the temple to set your date. They mention not having a long or elaborate train either. I know I will need to wear something else inside, and it's common to have a change of dress when inside. Again, they will explain it to you if you call! Smiley smile

As of today, you can have a civil marriage before your sealing. It wasn't permitted before, but now you can Smiley smile If you want to do it after the fact, it would be more of a ring-exchange, which is essentially the same thing but you don't exchange vows (you just make a promise to live faithfully and give one another your rings). This would happen if you decided to get sealed first, then do a ceremony. Which is what I'm doing.

    Hope this helps a little!
