Our photographer, who is very sweet, sent me an email two days after our December 10 wedding stating in bold letters that our photos would be delivered in 8-10 weeks. This happily surprised me because our contract said 10-12 weeks!
So I put it out of my mind and around week 8 I started checking my wedding email…obsessively lol.
I thought, maybe we’ll have our photos by Valentine’s Day - middle of week 9. Nope. Then, maybe photos by my birthday at the end of February - week 11. Nothing. The day after my birthday, photographer sent me an Instagram DM stating that photos were taking longer than normal because she’s working on a special edit for us and that we would have them “very soon”. Okay, cool. A little bummed because it’s a week past the due date, but they are coming soon! Well, now we are 14 days from that DM and into week 13 - 3 months just passed on the calendar. I realize this is a champagne problem and in the grand scheme of my life this won’t matter, but because she told me they could be ready by week 8, I have been thinking about these photos almost exclusively for the past month + change. (Driving my wife insane lol.) And truly, it’s making me a little depressed. I put so much thought and effort into our wedding after being engaged for 3.5 years and it’s annoying that this wedding is *still* taking up headspace. I want these photos so I can send a few to print and move on with my life. Also - we planned to have photos and albums be thank you gifts for our families who paid for the wedding, so it especially sucks that we’ve had to wait this long for a proper thank you gift. I know vendors are so swamped the past year, and our photographer specifically has been extremely booked. Has anyone else had to wait this long (or longer??) for wedding photos? Do I just shut up and wait? Any thoughts appreciated!
