Late Video

Hi! So my videographer told me we would get our video back in about 45 days after our wedding. When 45 days came around and still no video, I emailed him and I was understanding because I know weddings have been crazy this month/year. He said he was sorry and that he would get us our video by the last week of the month (2 weeks after the 45 days). I told him that was great and I was excited to see it. Now it’s the last week of the month and I haven’t heard anything from him. I re-read our contract and it says I would get the finished product within 60 days and today is day 61. I don’t want to be annoying especially since he is only 1 day off but I really want to see my video. Should I wait until the end of the week to email him or do you think I should email him sooner to see what his progress is?

I would give him a week grace period before reaching out again.

I would until a week after the commitment date in the contract.

Since you e already reached out and he said this week, I would wait for this week to pass before reaching out again.

Do you have a contract? If so, I would remind him of this and let him know he has one more week or you will pursue legal action. I’ve seen a lot of people just bail after doing the shots.

Wait. Video editing is an intense process and the last thing you want is him rushing it. Give him as long as you can stand lol.

I would wait. For a lot of photographers and videographers they are hitting the end of the busiest wedding season they have ever seen. Lots of people are backlogged on editing and at some points may have been shooting 2 or 3 weddings in a weekend. 60 days is a pretty quick turnaround time as I know many people who wait 4 or 5 months for their videos. I would give him until this end of the week and then gently ask what the progress is. I wouldnt look into pursuing any legal action unless you get another month out or he stops responding.
