Late Night Snacks?

MrsD, on June 8, 2018 at 1:27 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 35

What are you guys doing (if you are) for late night snacks? Our dinner will be served at 7:00 PM, dessert around 8:00 PM, and the night ends at 11:00 PM. So if we can, we want to offer something! We were considering renting a hot dog machine and letting people DIY them? What are some other options??

Hot dog machine would be cool! Especially when they can customize them. I would include turkey dogs for those that don't want to or can't eat pork.

We're doing artisan-style pizzas. We'll have either two or three options to pick from.

We did old school ice cream bars. Chocotacos, drumsticks, chocolate eclairs, etc. It was over awesome. Our resort had full kitchens in the rooms so a lot of people took a couple with them lol

How fun!!! So everyone gets a slice? Is this from your caterer or a food truck? And that's a good idea, we would probably get beef hot dogs anyway but maybe a few vegetarian ones!

That sounds awesome! We looked at an ice cream bar for our dessert bar, so if we don't do it maybe we will do it for the snack! I just assumed we'd do a dessert bar, so some kind of food instead for the snack.

Hot dog machine would be cool! I've also seen nacho bars (pretty easy and inexpensive).

If you're into fast food (my favorite drunk food is McDonalds fries) I've seen on Pinterest people ordering like 100 hamburgers, nuggets, and fries from there or I've seen boxes of Taco Bell tacos and sauces in a glass bowl (my friends sister did this, and even offered veggie options) and it was actually a huge it, no mess, and easy to grab and go.

They're actually going to be small pizzas for each person! It's part of the catering company we chose! I'm pretty excited about them.

Yes, beef is good and so is vegetarian! Are you having sides or just the dogs?

How are you doing pretzels, through your caterer? Or did you hire someone else to do it?

Yum! So does everyone make their own pizza? Or just slices? Are you getting pizza delivered or is your caterer making it?

A nacho bar would be good, and I agree, inexpensive! I'll look into this too. And I've seen that too! Our venue is just 30 minutes from any real town, so it would be hard for someone to pick it up and keep it hot for 6 hours before 11 PM Smiley sad

Not sure! I like the nacho bar idea too. Probably just hot dogs or nachos, no sides. Our appetizers and dinners and dessert have a lot of food, so I doubt people will be THAT hungry. I just have to talk to our caterer (after we choose one) and see if they will help with serving/heating up food if we rent the hot dog machine or nacho stuff!

Oh thats a good point! I think she called ahead to order it all, like the day before she told them, and then that night one of the groomsmen went to pick all of it up and brought it back for the midnight snack.

We wanted to do one, since our reception ends at 11, but we are having cake and a cookie table as well so we feel like after dinner there will be plenty of dessert to go around and so we decided to skip the late night snack. We are only doing beer and wine as well, so hopefully people won't need to sober up as much as they would on hard liquor.

We rented out the bar at the hotel everyone is staying at until 1am and are having pizzas and appetizers delivered from a nearby restaurant. Trying to keep it simple but make sure people are fed. Smiley smile

We ordered them from the local Philly Pretzel Factory, one of our caterers (we have two) has something to warm them before they are served.

How fun! Our hotel is around 30 minutes away from the venue, and a lot of our guests are from Denver so probably won't stay in the hotel. If it were more of a DW, we'd for sure look into that!

We are having wood fired pizza. The venue is well known for their pizza (in addition to other foods). There will probably be 3-4 options available for guests to choose from including a white pizza option.

Other options our venue offered was a poutine bar, slider and fries station, or a venetian table. I think hotdogs sound like a great options.

I think we're just going to order a few pizzas, keep it super simple!

Our dinner is around 6, and the party is ending at midnight, so we definitely need something for our guests!

I wanted to do a food truck but that was another $1,000 I don't have Smiley sad
