Late night food?

Emma, on August 12, 2020 at 11:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

I am trying to figure out if we need to have extra food after dinner. Our cocktail hour will be 5:45-645, dinner is buffet style will start at 7pm and will stay out till 8:30 pm. We are thinking cake will be at 9:30 pm. Our send off is at 1030/1045 pm. Do you think we will need extra food? Me and FH think we will be fine. My mom is slightly stressing.

No you don't need extra food. People will over eat during the buffet. You'll be fine.

That’s what I was thinking! If we were having a seated dinner I’d probably plan for more food but since it’s a buffet of people are still hungry they can get more

I think you could be okay, if mom is stressed what does she recommended? I could see maybe a to go snack/favor like different types of popcorns.

With a late dining schedule likes yours, I think extra late night snacks would be wasted.

I don't think it's needed. We did mini hot dogs & that was fun, but it wasn't necessary!

That was about our schedule, and we did not provide extra food. If you were going past midnight, that would change things.

As long as guests are well fed at dinner, they will be fine to skip late night snacks, especially since the reception is ending just a couple hours afterwards.

On a daily basis, people eat a set amount throughout the day and don't stray from that. But at wedding, they have been told by many people that unless you feed them every hour, they will starve.
Save your money for a rainy day. Plus you'll have leftovers from the buffet that the caterer may possibly pack up to send home with you.
