Who are you sitting at your last table? I think I am going to do my co-workers and boss.

Family up close to dance floor and older family friends, young folks further away from floor (they will make it there anyways!) And closer to the bar

Ask where you are having the reception. We are having it at a country club so it is just a kitchen where the food is being prepared.

We have two tables in an alcove that are farthest away from the dance floor/us. My co-workers plus my FI's, SIL's parents and sister are at one and then FI's old co-workers and friends are at the other. Our extended family tables are further away than our friend tables.

I've never considered table numbers as a ranking. And I sat at table 11 at my own wedding. I always thought you honor seniors and family by putting them close to the front/dance floor and younger persons with better eyes, ears, and legs towards the back.

My DJ told me to put older people farther from him so it's not to loud for them.

I didn't want anyone to feel too far way so out dance floor will be in the middle with our sweet heart table at one side with the tables on the others. Some will be a little further but i felt with this set up no one would be "far away"

The dance floor was one one end of the room, the DJ was near the dance floor, and we had I think 18 tables (160 guests or so). We put our table smack dab in the middle of the room; I think we were maybe Table 8 (we sat with a few members of the bridal party and their dates). Our parents each had a table that they got to pick who was at the table with them, and we made sure they were equidistant/next to our table. Most of the other choices were about who would like to be close to the dance floor/DJ and who would HATE being near the DJ, and who would want to be near the bar (and who shouldn't be near the bar!).

We essentially had rows of tables, so the "back row" farthest from us and the dance floor was my husband's co-workers and our "least close" family friends. We did stop and think about it for a second and were like "oops - awkward, who are we putting in the back??", but the back of the room table-wise (farthest from the dance floor) was actually the entrance of the room and had easy access to mingling areas, the bars, and the bathrooms! We put all of our friends closest to the dance floor (and speakers) and went from there!

We had our logistics meeting with the planner at my daughter's venue yesterday, and since there was a 140-person wedding on the schedule we got to see the room set up logistically for that number, very close to what we expect. The dance floor is in the middle of the room and the tables located all around, every one with a good view of the sweetheart table. I guess the tables by the DJ might be considered the 'least desirable'. The large bar set up is just outside the reception room so no one will be sitting next to that.

Daughter was asked where she wanted her vendor table - inside the room or in another area. We chose inside. The way her photographer works, if she sees something interesting about to happen she wants to shoot it, so having her in the space gives her the chance to keep an eye on the action and be prepared.
