Last month nightmare!

Katie, on October 29, 2019 at 4:52 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 14
Has anyone else had everything that could go wrong actually go wrong in the last month of planning? My wedding is 17 days away and I have had my florist get into some legal trouble so I had to find a new one and because of the last minute change my price almost tripled, my caterer had the building she was renting get sold without her knowledge and is now working out of her home so my price went up by $150, our ring barrer's vest is too small so we had to exchange it and his size is on back order and won't be here until a week before the wedding.

I'm about two months away from my wedding and my parents hate my table setting so they want me to change them to round tables. I ordered like 4 table linens that were not the correct size and its too late to return them, so I have to reorder more in the correct size. I went from thinking it was calm these past two weeks to the storm finally hitting and my anxiety being high. Take a deep breath because somethings were bound to happen unfortunately. Hopefully things look up and just remember only you will know if something goes wrong on the day of the wedding, no one else will. Good luck.

I have 25 days. My wedding band order was messed up and now I won’t get it til after the wedding. We have to get one that’s way too big for me to wear at the ceremony. Just found out my future brother in law who is a groomsman by the way and whom I’ve never met is skipping our wedding for no reason other than he doesn’t feel like it basically. I just want to cry.

Things went wrong on my wedding even though I desperately tried my best for it not to happen. The best advice is honestly to just give it some more tries, take it one thing at a time and BREATHE. I learned that last one exactly when I took off my dress after the wedding and started crying of relief. You think things may go wrong and hey, maybe they will, but the more you say them the more likely they are to happen. My maid of honor and only maid was 45 minutes late, so at the end we started a whole hour late. My DJ got on heavy traffic and arrived barely 20 minutes before the wedding to actually set everything up, and everyone leaving it all to me I also sent the song list literally at 11pm the day before. With that said, my whole wedding party marched in complete silence because he didn't have the song ready and when I started walking, the song came on but it was waaaaaay to low so it was barely heard. I also finished my DIY's at 3am on my wedding day and needed to call everyone to remind them since no one was bothering in getting them. Not even half the people we expected went, party was over at about midnight straight, and the only thing that got on my nerves was that I realized just starting to walk down with my dad I DIDN'T HAVE MY BOUQUET, NONE OF THE MEN HAD THE BOUTTONIERES AND MY MAID OF HONOR DIDN'T HAVE HER BOUQUET EITHER. Of course, I stopped dead and went with my dad to get them and it was a huge blooper since everyone was then laughing but at the same time it made the moment more memorable. No one complained and no one, absolutely no one, paid attention to what was around us but yet on us and our love. It was rainy, muddy and cold and yet we had the most amazing time. Don't be scared of the what if's, better yet, embrace them if they come. Believe me it'll be worth laughing over at the end.

I'm so sorry that is happening! FHs side still has about 7 families that didn't RSVP and wont return my messages so I don't even know if I ordered enough tablecloths and centerpieces and I feel at this point I really don't care 🤷‍♀️ I know that probably sounds bad but this last month has been a complete nightmare

Oh man I get it. Im now 3 days out and things are all good again, but right about 2 weeks out I had a bunch of stuff go wrong. I decided to just let it go and stop overthinking it. So the last 10 days or so have been a breeze.
    Good luck to you!

I completely understand the feeling! I messaged one of the groomsmans wifes to ask if they had gotten his vest and tie and she proceeded to let me know she didn't even know he was in the wedding party... I hope your groomsmen steps up and shows up to support y'all

I have been planning for two years and it has all been smooth until now. I can't stop the inevitable and hopefully 🤞 the wedding day will go as smooth as a normal wedding day can. I know things will go wrong and I am prepared for that but I feel like I am getting hit with new set backs every day.

I would be a absolute mess! I bought my dress when I got engaged back in 2017 just so I didn't have to worry about not having it

DO NOT CHANGE A THING BECAUSE OF YOUR PARENTS it’s not their wedding it’s yours and your happiness should be more important than theirs at this time

You are getting hit by them, the last minute let downs I decided to call them but trust in your best ways. Everything will go smooth and these are just minor set backs, minor. You and your FH are bigger than them 💪🏼 Everything will turn out more than okay hopefully, trust in it👌🏼
