Last minute venue change

Courtney, on June 4, 2020 at 6:55 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
Hello everyone! Due to everything going on my Fiancé and I have had to move our wedding to an alternative location as I am sure may have had to do. The venue we had been planing on for over a year and a half had its own bar in it and supplied many things such as a large dance floor, tables, and linens. With our new location we are having to rent more items than before and they do not allow alcohol (this isn’t a big deal to me with everything else that has occurred).

Any dance floor I have found is too expensive for us to rent this late, does anyone have any suggestions?
Also, what are some fun non alcoholic drinks that we found serve?

Would the venue be ok with just allotting a space without the dance floor?

for non alcoholic drinks you can try boba! at my cocktail hour we had a boba bar. i've also seen people do italian sodas, a coffee cart, etc.

They are not requiring that we get one I just feel that we should due to the floor being concrete.

I hadn’t thought of that, my sister loves boba! Did you purchase everything for that or did you find someone who catered?

We actually did it ourselves which was easy because it’s really just tea that we cold brewed the night before aha. And we bought the boba and jelly toppings from a store along with some additional flavorings and sugar on the side. However I did contact several vendors for some quotes just to see! So you can definitely do that too, a lot of boba stores do catering events now a days.

I found this article for fun non-alcoholic drinks that you could offer. I don't drink, but my husband does so we had alcohol at our wedding. I would have been totally fine if we hadn't. As for the dance floor, I know our DJ offered dance floor options. Have you checked with your DJ to see if they offer anything?

Our venue had an option to rent a dance floor, because their floor was also concrete/grouted. We didn't go for it, and it worked out just fine. Sometimes those dance floors are actually quite slippery, and you also need to make sure they stay put.
