Last minute Seating chart

Sarah, on September 10, 2016 at 9:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

So, my grandmother cannot come to my wedding as she just found out she has a cancerous tumor in her pancreas. She is actually getting surgery the day before my wedding. I knew about this weeks ago so I knew she and my grandfather wouldn't be attending. Yesterday, my aunt calls and tells me her and my aunt aren't coming because they are flying down to see her before the surgery. Which I'm disappointed but I obviously understand. Anyways, on Tuesday I am giving a head count to my venue. I have had the seating chart done weeks ago. But now all the sudden I had 4 people within the last week tell me they won't make it. So do I redo the thing all over again so each table is filled? Or leave empty seats?? I also need to give her the seating chart on Tuesday. Mind you I redid the damn thing at least 5 times already!

Where they at the same table?

If they were could you just move one couple so there wont be four empty seats. And have the empty seats a little more spread out. If they were at different tables I would just leave them empty.

I personally wouldn't redo it and just have the open seats. Don't make things more difficult on yourself. Relax this week Smiley smile

I am sorry about your grandma. I agree with what pp said. A couple of empty seats on each tables is not noticeable.

One of my table will have 10 and the rest will be either 8 or 9. Your venue can space the chairs out so there is not actual "empty seats" at the table.

Sorry about your grandma Smiley sad

I agree you should just leave those seats empty. You're too close to the date to try and re-do it a 6th time. Don't stress over it.

No advice on the seating chart part but I wanted to say sorry about your grandma. Positive thoughts her way.

I would leave it! If they were at the same table and you had four missing seats, then I would redo. But, I think you are good! I am sorry to hear about your grandmother.
