Last minute rant

I’m so sick of these seamstress and tailors working on our stuff last minute. They are very talented and yes we would not go to them if they weren’t good, but I just don’t understand. Why take the shirt or dress if you’re not going to work on it until the week before the wedding?? I still haven’t been able to see if my veil matches yet, and my fiancé has a shirt that he got “custom-made “ Yet the measurements were all off, and the seamstress still has it. It’s one tuxedo shirt and they have had it for the past two months and they haven’t even touched it yet. Are they just trying to wait till the last minute and then run into an issue? I just don’t get it. But then God forbid if you call and ask them about your own items that you pay for and own that they have and how much longer it will be. They will pop their buttons if you question them on how much longer it will be. I know we still have some time away from the wedding, and know my fiancé does not need his shirt anytime soon, but yes we would like to make sure that everything fits well and also I would like to match my veil at some point to my dress. Even with my second dress! It’s being ordered and is getting shipped to their store. Once it comes in I can go pick it up and then bring it back to them to get it altered and they said oh we can get it done two weeks before the wedding… don’t get me wrong, I have confidence and I know they will be able to get it done properly, but like what if something does go wrong. I’ll be up the creek with the paddle. Throughout this entire wedding process I felt like many of our vendors as well as the venue our very last minute people. It’s very frustrating because then we start running into these issues that could’ve easily been resolved if they hadn’t waited until the last minute.

So I started working officially in a bridal boutique as a seamstress and holy hell the amount of dresses for alterations is crazy. The ladies I work with have been in the business 20+ years and said this has been their busiest year ever. SO many people are getting married this year after postponing last year that they can't keep up. They are literally hiring anyone who can see a hem to try to keep up. Dresses are being shipped to us from all over the state because other locations can't keep up. We also have to send dresses off to other places. It's insane. I work a ton of extra hours and even take work home with me to get stuff done. I know it sucks but trust me when I say everyone out there is doing their best in this crazy time.
