Last minute drop outs.

Alhina, on August 13, 2019 at 12:45 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7
My wedding is 4 days away and we have people dropping out, and our Groomsmen saying he have to leave the wedding early because his son Birthday the same day as the wedding. I feel more stressed than ever. We have been planning this wedding for 18 months I feel like he knew his son Birthday on the same day it dont take a rocket scientist to figure that out. 🤨🤨🤨🤨

My best guess with the GM and his sons birthday is he didn’t want to decline being a GM or miss your big day, so he felt like this was a reasonable compromise. I don’t understand why he wouldn’t have brought it up sooner though 🤷‍♀️. Last minute drops outs stress me out because I know several of our friends did it to another friend who got married earlier this year. It’s unfortunate and frustrating, but it happens I guess and all you can do is focus on the positive and celebrate with those who make it.

Some men, God bless them, can't keep a calendar straight if their life depended on it! I totally feel for you! I'm ALWAYS on my fiance about this. He will double book any and everything important. Just breath! I know this is stressful, but the only person that matters is your significant other. The 2 of you will be busy and overwhelmed in the moment that you won't notice if anyone leaves early. You're almost there! You got this!

This is where the saying "pick your battles" comes into play.

I would be peeved but at the same time if he doesn't have anything to do once he's stood there for the ceremony and introduced for the reception...i'd let him go. Of course make sure he's going to stay for dinner so you don't waste money on his plate of food.

If this issue was brought up at an earlier time, you probably could've asked that he step down from his duties because of his time conflict but since it's so close to the wedding let it go.

Hey Teresa the Groomsmen want to leave 15 to 20 minutes of the wedding. He wont be able to take pictures or eat.

Right if both would of brought it up sooner we could have replaced them. My coordinator told me not to stress about it.

That's disappointing, but you've got to keep pushing forward!
