Last Minute Details

Danielle, on July 8, 2022 at 6:03 AM Posted in Planning 5 14
Hello! I am getting married in one week and wanted to reach out to see what last minute details you dealt with in the last few days before your wedding (or are planning on taking care of a week before your wedding). Were there any items that surprised you or you weren’t planning for? Things that were a must do? Thanks in advance for your feedback! Good luck planning everyone!!

Hi Danielle. Here are some ideas: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-ideas/16-wedding-details-every-couple-forgets-but-shouldn-t

For myself, I had my jewelry cleaned, got my nails done, finalized welcome bags, dropped off venue items, and had a date night funnymoon with my partner where we did zero planning. We also had the car detailed with a "just married" decal put on. If your partner is wearing a self-tie bowtie, have him/ her practice with YouTube videos all week. Check his/her alterations. My husband unfortunately made his own schedule the day of our wedding while i was at the hotel. He decided to fix the window of the other car and prepared a cooler of drinks for our transport bus, which never got to the people. He never learned how to tie the bowtie and wore a thin, middle school-esque tux tie that was always crooked. In sum, make a light list and keep your partner in line!

Definitely go over your inventory to make sure you had everything ! that way you still have time to last minute buy

Our wedding is next weekend too. 😬
I realized in the last couple of weeks that our venue doesn’t supply menu cards. Duh! So I made one online and they came a few days ago.
I’ve got to make a list of all items to bring to the venue so nothing is missed. Plus, finalize the seating chart since guests changing. Today, our song playlist was sent to the DJ along with family member list for Photographer. Nails and hair color in the next couple of days.Gheez, it’s exhausting.

Thought of 2 more: 1) consider preserving your bouquet. There are different businesses that can do so whole or deconstructed. 2) maybe lay low from crowds due to Covid concerns and test for your big event. Good luck.

On the day before our wedding we decorated the venue ourselves and put the food hampers together for the guests (it was a covid wedding). I also had my hair dyed and regret not being able to get my nails done professionally (covid).

I do regret not organising to get my bouquet/part of it preserved.

Great call!! Shipping is hit or miss, but hopefully a week is enough time on most things!

SO SMART!! Have you preserved your flowers? I have seen some things in passing but haven’t researched much about it. And yes, hopefully we can avoid any COVID issues prior to the big event… fingers crossed!

That’s helpful! I am glad I’m not the only one that got my hair done the week before - someone told me it was too late. Do you have any suggestions for preserving my bouquet?

Someone posted this in a different thread! https://magentaflowers.co.uk/ I didn't even know such things existed and would have loved a paperweight or necklace. My bouquet was too big to keep forever in its entirety. With several elderly relatives not having been able to attend the wedding, I would have made some for them as well.

Ooh, this is nice. I wish I knew of this beforehand because it was sad watching it decay in a vase on my coffee table.
