Last minute decision: Veil or no veil?

Ceelie , on July 25, 2019 at 1:37 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
I'm starting to have second thoughts about doing a veil! I was originally not planning on it, because I've seen so many pictures of brides without a veil these days. But I'm starting to feel like it would be a nice addition because my dress is so simple. But is this going out of style? What are the pros and cons of doing one vs not? TIA!Smiley heart

I didn't do one simply because it didn't look good on me. I did a headband though. Have you looked at alternatives such as flower crowns or headbands or birdcages?

Yeah I considered hair pieces, the only problem with that is I'm getting married in the temple and won't be able to wear a hair piece in there at all. But now that I think about it, I don't think I can wear a veil either. So if I do any hair piece I'd have to put it in after the ceremony for pics. Do you think that'd be too much hassle or should I go for it?

Okay, so here's what my photographer told me... "I have never had a bride regret having a veil, but I have had a ton that have regretted not having it." I am wearing mine just for the ceremony and pictures, and probably taking it out half way through to get some with and some without.

Also, I would take it out before everyone starts hugging you, I've heard so many girls say people would pull it down (by accident) when going in for hugs and end up pulling some of her hair style down or even some hair out!

I would try one on with your dress and see what you think about the look as a whole. I'm wearing one simply because it makes me feel bridal and when else am I going to get to wear a veil?

Head band , tiara , flower crown, veil, French veil. There’s lots of options. Some women think of their hair as a kind of veil. Do what makes you feel good.

I did a veil for the ceremony and a headpiece for the reception! It was a really quick and simple change, and it was fun to have two different looks during the day! It was a cathedral length veil, which I really loved.

I'm opting out of veil because I hate having things around my face. Instead I'm going to have a nice hair comb.

I thought I was gonna want no veil, but then I started putting them on at my dress appointments and it turns out I fell in love with a huge one lol so I recommend at least trying them on because ultimately it's whatever you think completes your look. I definitely don't think they're going out of style, and I think it's a really beautiful, traditional feel at a wedding Smiley smile

I think you should wear a veil! When else are you going to get the chance to wear one? I didn't feel bridal without one. I'm going with a custom-made flowered lace cathedral veil! I'm wearing it for pictures & the ceremony. I'll take it off for the reception.

I know alot if people who regretted the veil! I've been to multiple weddings where the bride took it off mid ceremony. Even a few where it flew off mid vows....haha. But I live in California and it's very popular to get married outside here. I'd take into consideration the weather and venue of the ceremony. I think that will help you find your answer.
