I definitely think it's okay. I'm not a traditional bride in the sense that I don't go based on etiquette. Every bride is different and just because something works for one bride doesn't mean it'll work for the next. I think you're fine to do whatever you please! You know your guests best - are there vegetarians if there is meat in the lasagna, do any of them have dairy issues (ricotta), any have gluten issues (pasta)?

I would be totally worried I would get it on my dress but besides that who cares, it sounds good to me. If we end up buying a house with a bigger yard, I would totally be down to do something like this for my reception.

It's not what I would do because of tomato sauce stains but it's not bad if that makes sense. Sandwiches from the deli? Pasta alfredo?

Anyone with a Publix knows their food is good. That is a really good deal and you should do it. You could supplement like someone else said with a few bags of salad and some rolls from the bakery.
